About Marci »

I am a sports fan.

As a kid I played sports pretty much year round. I won golf tournaments at the golf course my dad superintended, played little league softball for five years, basketball for two. I rocked soccer for nine and I even ran cross country one season, to name a few. All through high school the track coach begged me to run for him and whenever the girls in youth group went off to give each other facials, I snuck down to the gym to shoot around with the guys.

I often knew more about sports than the guys I dated, though they'd never admit it.

Now, I bartend at a sports bar in New York and spend my days with proud Giants fans, passionate Red Sox fans, and loyal alumni. I cheer with, console, and (if the shoe fits) make fun of fans every night. Don't worry, I can take it, too. Being a Seahawks fan and a Vandal alum in the Big Apple, you have to have a sense of humor.

My writing is a little sarcastic with a pessimistic glaze and a garnish of tedious hope.

It’s official. At 4-7 the Seahawks aren’t any worse than they were last year (4-12)! In fact, the remaining games on the Seahawks’ schedule suggest they may even come out looking a little bit better...
