About Zachary »

Boy, post graduate life is surely different than I thought.

I'm a local Florida kid with Idaho roots, and pit stops in Maryland and Virginia. Love to read and write about anything Boise State, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins and occasionally the Caps. Biding my time on Bleacher Report (possibly the greatest thing since fries in a Frosty) until Baseball America calls my name (still waiting Jim Callis, still waiting).

Clearly, a passion of mine is throwing out my opinions on the minor leagues, and hey, when you're an Orioles fan, that's about the only place to look for hope. Aside from my Jim Callis obsession, I also enjoy the writings of Roch Kubatko, formerly of the Baltimore Sun and now a full-time blogger for MASN Sports, Peter Schmuck, Kubatko's heir to the throne at the Sun, Will Lingo and John Manuel of Baseball America, and Tim Kurkjian, Buster Olney, John Caple and Jayson Stark of ESPN.

As a employee of a high end fashion company (don't read too much into that), I frequently come into contact with high profile athletes and try to pick their brains as much as I can, sharing whatever I can squeeze out of them with fellow Reporters. So far I can count Laveranues Coles, former Steeler great Yancy Thigpen, present Steeler great and Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes, former Orioles First Round Draft Pick Mike Paradis, and NFLer Antoine Bethea among those gracing the pages of my client book.

In closing....go O's!

New Article: Orioles Top Prospect No. 11: Caleb Joseph

The NY Yankees and the media are trying to manipulate you.

Yankee propaganda must be exposed as lies and crushed before it can spread any further.

Former MLB player Eric Karros called my article into question on Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio show yesterday.

He challenged me for a re-do: but here's my response.

I assure you, it's not just a ridiculous personal attack, but it shows that Karros was off-base with his statements.

Hey Zachary, here's the R/T questions, answer if you like.

Here it is. 10 questions about majors (ouch) and minors (yippee).

    1) We thought Luke Scott was starting to become consistent. We thought wrong. He got in a huge slump. Two questions. Why do you think he did, and with a HR tonight, do you think he'll get into one of his famous streaks?

    2) What would be your thoughts if the O's couldn't sign Mychal Givens?

    3) With Aubrey Huff, Melvin Mora, and Danys Baez clearing waivers, what do you think the O's could get in return?

    4) What is up with Jeremy Guthrie?

    5) When he returns, do you think Brad Bergesen will be as effective as he was before he suffered that injury?

    6) Thoughts on Tillman's great start against Toronto?

    7) Do you think Chris Ray is back (8.1 IP, 9 H, 0 ER last 7 appearances)?

    8) When Uehara and Sarfate return to the club, who will be the odd men out?

    9) After a good outing in Toronto, do you think Jason Berken can turn it around?

    10) How pleased are you with the way Felix Pie has turned it around?

    Minors

    1) With three hits tonight and an RBI, Justin Turner is hitting .313. Is he due for a callup?

    2) Concerned with Matt Hobgood's slow start (6.75 ERA first four starts)?

    3) With Arrieta turning in a solid start Saturday, can he turn it around in AAA?

    4) Pleased with Steve Johnson and Josh Bell's performances so far?

    5) How do you grade Brandon Waring's first year as an Oriole?

    6) How pleased can one be with Brandon Snyder?

    7) Coming back from injury, what do you expect from Blake Davis?

    8) Thoughts on Erbe's no hitter on Thursday?

    9) With Tony Butler now in rookie league, can he be another piece of the Mariners deal that pans out?

    10) Disappointed with Greg Miclat?
