About

Hello, my name is Richard Wade.

I graduated from Buffalo State College in May 2009, with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.

I enjoy watching almost every sport, except NASCAR.

I read an insane amount of magazines, from ESPN to Time to Maxim. Also, I often check out 4-5 books from the library at the same time. Then struggle to read them all in a reasonable amount of time.

If I could live any place, it would probably be a cold weather city, because I am a Winter person. The warm weather is too stifling in my opinion.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Greg Maddux, Chipper Jones, Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, Dominik Hasek, Ryan Miller

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Atlanta Braves, Orlando Magic, Buffalo Bills, Boston Red Sox

  • Favorite Coaches

    Marv Levy

  • All-Time Sports Moment

Homerun Throwback: Titans vs. Bills AFC Wild Card Playoffs. Jan. 8, 2000.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

1997 American Bowl: Bills vs. Packers in Toronto at the Skydome. Even though the Bills lost 35-3, I still remember the game vividly. I still have the t-shirt to this day.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cal Ripken's consecutive games played streak of 2,632 games.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Mays. Mantle was overrated because he wasn't nearly as good in the field. He is often remembered as a one-dimensional power hitter before the term was regualrly used

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana. He has the Super Bowl rings to prove it. I guess it doesn't hurt playing with the best receiver in the history of the game(Jerry Rice) either.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan. He ushered in the game of baseketball to a worldwide audience. He created a brand that is synonymous with the baseketball crowd. I myself began to watch basketball because of Michael Jordan.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Orr. He did more in the brief (12 NHL seasons) than some players do in their entire careers. He had six consecutive 100-point+ seasons, unheard of from a defenseman during that time.

  • Pele or Maradona?

I cannot make an honest judgment because I have never seen either play.

  • Federer or Sampras?

Federer. He is the men's all-time leader in Grand Slam titles, with 15. And he is still playing!

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger, but only because I grew up in his era of dominance. He has his own line of video games for crying out loud!

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Earnhardt. I never was a NASCAR fan. I would occasionally watch because my parents had it on the TV. When I did watch though, Dale Earnhardt made it interesting. He was perceived as the villain, an all black car that terrorized the rest of the field. Upon his death during the final lap of the 2001 Daytona 500, I've never watched a race in its entirety since

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Neither. I barely watch NSACAR. I certainly couldn't sit down and watch INDY Car or any other type of motorsports. I prefer the sports that are non-machine driven, like baseball, football, basketball, etc.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

Can I pick "all of the above?" I love all of college football, regardless of the conference.
