Fred Lorenzen and Jimmie Johnson

When I started writing for The Bleacher Report, my main goal was to see that Rex White got some RESPECT from a sport that he once dominated, but has totally been ignored by Nascar. I'm now Rex White's PR Spokesman and will try to see that Rex is inducted into the 2010 International Hall of Fame. It seems that the Old School Nascar fans are upset with what is happening in the Sprint Cup Series. Safety for the Driver's and Fan's is Nascar's first priority and I applaud that. However, the Car of Today has some issues and I hope Nascar address's them in the off season. I have been a both crew man and a spectator in Nascar's premiere series for 49 years and want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read one of my articles. I hope to write a lot more about BACK IN THE DAY. My Facebook WALL has every article I've written so please visit it. Any questions or comments can be addressed at rarec36@msn.com

Rene, Thanks for the comment. Juan Pablo and Brian are clicking now and Cup racing to JP is a piece of cake after his open wheel career. I see him winning at least three Cup races next year. Bill

Hi Mary Jo, I enjoy your articles and they are well researched. Jan was one hell of a driver. I worked for Carrera Shocks in the early 80's and we dominated the WOA, Dirt Series and all the Late Model & Modified series on dirt and asphalt. I bet you remember our Yellow London Double Decker Bus that we would take to the major events. Keep up the good work. Bill

David-Great read! You already have a whiner and a gay posting. I can't wait to see who else shows up for this one.

Good read on Rex White. I was at the festival this past weekend taking pictures. It's great to see the men who paved the way for this sport.

DeleteAl, Thank you for the kind comment. I know you write about F1 and I like your articles because their in-depth and well documented. I hope you were around in the Can-Am days with Jackie Stewart in the L & M Lola, Bruce and Denny in the Orange Mclaren's, Mark Donahue in the outrageous Porsche 917/30 and Jim Hall's Vacuum Chaparral. I raced Formula Ford's in the mid '70's. Once you're bitten by the racing bug, you're involved forever! Keep up the good work! Bill
