Chris's Bio

Chris Pennant is an old-schooler in a youngblood's body: the sacrifice bunt is more valuable than a home run, center field should be referred to as "the garden," and Roos are the best baseball cleats of all time. His greatest regret? He never made it to a game at Old Comiskey Park. Second greatest? He only went to one Sox game in 2005--against the Royals.

I'm finishing up my sophomore year at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Lifelong South Sider from Chicago, my favorite team is the Chicago White Sox and as the song goes, " whoever plays the Cubs." Love all sports(even hockey can be exciting), but baseball is my first love. Teams: White Sox, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Bradley Braves, and the Fighting Illini.

Oh, and Sundays, contrary to popular opinion, are for bowling.

  1. Hey Chris check out my new article:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/58256-comparing-the-numbers-whos-your-american-league-rookie-of-the-year

  2. Chris,

Ben and I are putting together end of the season MLB awards for the Community Leaders. Should I use the e-mail in your profile to send you the ballot?

    Let me know

  3. And a good morning to you, sir. I was just checking in to make sure the hyperlinks worked out...So, did the hyperlinks work out?

  4. sweet,
    my email is
    shaman81102@yahoo.com

  5. Sure thing!

As for the hyperlinks: Just highlight the words you want linked in the piece (preferably just one or two key words, long links muck up the page) then at the top of the text box should be the editing tool bar with "bold" and "indent" and what not. Click the icon of the chain links, right next to the "undo edit" button. That should present you with a pop-up box. In that box, you'll see the place to paste the URL for the profile page. Then set the target as "open link in a new window" and then click insert.

My long-winded explanation seems more complicated than it is. Give it a try, and if you're still having problems I'll try and find a more eloquent way to explain it, or I can just do it for you, either way is not a problem for me (you know that I live to serve).

    Godspeed, CJP.

  6. Hey man, loved the Sox talk, and I would love to contribute next time around.

  7. I am honored to be edited by a Bradley student. I had a dream last night of dodging a phlosophy class there. Thank you very much!

and your right, sac bunt is the best.

  10. Hey, thanks for taking a look at the article and touching it up! It's much appreciated.

  11. Not at all Chris, thanks very much. Everything looks good.

  12. Thanks for the edits and feedback, Chris.

  13. Hey man just wondering if you were still planning on doing a White Sox Roundtable.

  14. That was a good, and big win for them. I saw the initial score and thought they were done. The being on edge thing I understand, especially after the Cub game yesterday

  15. Thanks for the name drop in your article, just what I need is more people calling me a dirty Cubs fan for an article that has nothing to do with the rivalry, haha.

Which brings me to thank you for not bringing that up in your comments. It's appreciated. It wasn't meant to tout the Cubs, diminish the Sox, and so forth. Just a baseball writer giving criticism.
