Carlos Pineda is an up-and-coming sports writer attending the University of Central Florida. In his senior year, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Central Florida Future —the UCF student paper. He has covered the following UCF sports —softball (2009, 2010), men's & women's tennis (2009), women's soccer (2009), baseball (2010).

Carlos is a South Florida native, growing up in Pembroke Pines, FL and attending Pembroke Pines Charter High School.

    I think the score will be 2-0 US. Slovenia is very strong defensively but I think the US will be able to put 2 on the board. There are no guarantees in the World Cup, but you gotta think that the US will win both of their remaining games. Then you just gotta pray that the US will have a better goal differential than England.

    Hi Carlos,

    Congrats of being promoted as Editor-in-Cheif. That means you probably know Brandon Ribak, the guru NBA writer on B/R and a good friend. It's too bad I cannot meet him in person, simply because I live in Southern California. I'm an avid sports writer as well, attending a community college, where I recently received my AA degree. But for me, the toughest struggle is passing math classes, a requirement I need in order to advance to a University. In fact, one particular school I'm looking into is UCF. As you probably know, it's one of the best journalism programs in the country. I'd like to know if you'd be interested in joining my team @ sportsnation, a site I've established. I'd love to have a talented and devoted writer join. If you are interested, please let me know, man. I'd love to have you.
