Kobe's a career 25 ppg scorer on 55% True Shooting. The average for a shooting guard is 53.5% True shooting. That's not all time scorer material. Jordan was 31 ppg on 58%.
If all we ever did was pick out the highlights of a players career, everyone would look like an all time great. With all those amazing games Kobe's had, he's had a lot of really bad ones to balance it out, and his career averages reflect that.
You do realize the majority of the educated basketball community considers Kobe to be something of a joke. I do not take that approach, because though his play has been drastically overrated by his followers, I think there is something to be said for playing at a high level for 17 years.
It's difficult to convey this to many Laker fans, as they don't even have a basic understanding of what makes a player great (like you demonstrated).
