About

I am a recent graduate of the University of Utah, but ironically I am a lifelong BYU sports fan.

Simply put, I am a sports fan.

My friend Jake and I created a blog about sports in our spare time http://thebigpodcast.blogspot.com/ .

We podcast and write about different sports stories; focusing the bulk of our attention on Mountain West Conference sports, and the Utah Jazz. Yet, we also like to look at different relevant national sports stories.

I like to hear different opinions from people, and I am willing to debate different sports topics with anybody.

My e-mail is markwelling@gmail.com

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

John Stockton, Ty Detmer, Kurt Warner, Deron Williams, Andrei Kirilenko, Memo Okur, David Wright, and Ken Griffey Jr.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Utah Jazz, BYU Cougars, New York Mets, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Santos

  • Favorite Coaches

LaVell Edwards, Jerry Sloan, Bobby Bowden, Brono Mendenhall, and Trent Shippen

  • All Time Sports Moment

John Stockton hitting the three against the Houston Rockets to send the Utah Jazz to the NBA Finals.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Mets at home against the Padres for Mike Piazza's first game back after being let go by the Mets. Pedro is on the mound, and pitches a gem. The only runs he gives up are home runs to Mike Piazza. Beltran robbed Piazza at the fence to keep Piazza from single handedly beating the Mets. (Miami at BYU close #2)

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

John Stockton's all time assist record.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Ruth. Babe Ruth is baseball.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan. Seriously, I am a Jazz fan and i will sing the praises of Jordan as the greatest ever.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Pele - Not even close!

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

The club, because it also can cause a car to drive in a constent left turn.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

Mountain West Conference. The idea of the top six conferences being so much better is a joke.

Hi Mark, thanks for the feedback to my edits on your Utah Jazz article. Regarding the headlines, I think if you uncheck the "enable auto formatting" box, it will not automatically put everything in upper case for you.

    Cheers,

Thanks to BR, I recently interviewed Knicks legend Earl Monroe. Here is what he had to say on a variety of topics, including the current state of the Knicks!
