About raam »

Origins:- Born in Bangalore, India to lovely mom and dad on the Autumn Equinox of 1980, bred in Bangalore and rest of India.

Academia :- Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by a research based Masters degree in Automotive Engineering, specialising in Computational Fluid Dynamics shortly and sweetly known as CFD. Now dun be put off by all these geeky terms, the fun bit follows. Else if your patience is a lil iffy, scroll str8 down.

Paying The Bills:- Working as a CFD applications engineer with a consultancy in Greater Manchester. Skills include proficiency in Ansys family of Design and Analysis codes like Workbench, Multiphysics, CFX, FLuent & Gambit and ICEM CFD. I also work on FEA problems in addition to CFD. Oh and I must tell you that I look forward to Monday mornings. For me, this is in a way a chlidhood dream come true. Designing and analysing mechanical engineering marvels of today and tomorro gives me a kick. This passion towards the work is more than 12 seasons of enthusiasm towards Formula One and fascination, infatuation, inebriation and exhilaration caused by excessive indulgence in cars and motorsport. Loyalty in all those twelve years has been towards only one marque, the one and only Ferrari.

For Kicks:- I do a lot in my pastime like dancing Salsa, Merengue and Cha Cha Cha, cooking, photography, writing, reading, watching films(collecting DVDs) going to the cinema, drinking and of course listening to Rock(floyd, doors, led-zep, the boss, dire straits, acdc), Country, Latin and some Indian bands and composers. Bollywood music is a strict no-no, esp the likes of Anu Malik, Himesh Reshammiya, Jatin-Lalit et al. Love films by Danny Boyle, Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Alfred Hitchcock, Guy Ritchie, Roman Polanski, Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Brian De Palma, Oliver Stone amongst others and of course Mani Ratnam - The Indian Genius. I have lot of fav films so m not gonna name them here, same with books, songs etc. I also watch football and rugby union extensively. Ive been an ardent supporter of Manchester United since 1995-96 and been following the fortunes of rugby union team, Sale Sharks of the Guinness Premiership since I moved to Manchester.

Thats me in a nutshell, or a bombshell(if that felt like an explosive profile). If you need to know more... ask!!!

    Hey,

Following up yesterday's great debate is the one I've been waiting to write for a long time, and the one I think may be the best debate yet and a must-read for any football fan! Should video technology be introduced into football? Would doing so take away from the 'magic' that makes the game so great? And would it help or hinder the referees? Have your say in the Great Debate!
