How The Economic Climate Could Save Formula One
January 20, 2009
To quote Godfellas i start with 'A far back as i can remember i always wanted to be a F1 driver'
When my friends were playing Football i was watching Senna, Prost and Mansell battle it out and racing was in the blood.
I tried to achieve my dream and i was lucky enough to be able to kart race, I raced against Lewis Hamilton a few times, i was 9, he was 11, so i never beat him but i was pretty good, i raced at european level and finished 10th in British Kart Championships, i think i had the skills to race at a high level however my F1 dreams were gone when i started to grow and eventually the costs got to big for my Family,
Some of my racing colleagues are still going strong, i had many races agaisnt (and beaten numerous times!) the past three McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winners (Oliver Turvey, Stefan Wilson and Alex Sims) so i can always say one day if anything of them make F1 that i have beaten them !
I'm still involved with Motorsport as i'm an MSA Licenced Timekeeper but i spend most of my sporting Days playing Rugby and particualry Rowing at University. I also follow NFL avidly and with my sister Living in Austin, TX means that i've also picked College Football, a game i love and prefer to the NFL
I've always fancied myself a bit of a Writer, espically in sports so i find this a perfect place to express my sporting views.
Enjoy
