About Peter »

Peter Haldis has been a fan of open-wheel racing since his father (an employee of Penske Racing in the 1970s) took him to the IndyCar race at the Meadowlands in 1985. He was disheartened by the IRL-CART split in 1996 and the resulting vacuum that enabled NASCAR to rise to prominence and caused both the IRL and CART to become afterthoughts in the U.S. sports landscape. He awaits the day that IndyCar will return to its rightful place at the top of the North American pecking order. A far of oval and road racing, he would love to see Michigan, Phoenix and Road America return to the IndyCar schedule.

A 2004 graduate of the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism, Peter has also loved to write all his life and is thrilled with the opportunity to combine that love with his passion for racing.
