My guys, I want to give credit to Marshall over at GVS for the great write up he did about me. Much appreciated! Great job. Pretty much sums up all you need to know ::
Kevin Lee is a Michigan raised, hard nosed young prospect in MMA.
Born and raised in Detroit, Kevin had been training MMA for only a month before making his amateur debut, winning in a stunning KO. He parlayed that into a very successful amateur career, taking on the best that Michigan had to offer, amassing at 10-0 record ending ever fight with a KOs/submissions, and 8 of which came in the very first round; earning Kevin the spot of number one lightweight in rankings, after a spectacular first round KO of the previous #1 ranked lightweight and winning 3 titles in 3 different organizations. His last 4 amateur opponents combined amassed an amazing 47-4 record!
Kevin used this momentum to propel him to his second trip to the National Wrestling Tournament representing his university and Michigan across the country.
Starting his pro career at just 19 years of age in March of 2012, Kevin has already managed to take out some of the toughest fighters he could find, including internationally. His first three professional opponents were the cream of the crop with a combined 19-3 which included appearances in strikeforce and bellator, and came from such world renowned gyms in tristar, magnum, and American top team. The young dynamo has stepped up on numerous occasions to fight fighters with much more experience than him, and given short time to prepare; taking on bellator and Cage Warriors vet JP Reese on just 24 hours notice, headlining a card at the Palace of Auburn Hills in his hometown. Talk about pressure! To add on to that, Kevin has done this all while still attending university!
Kevin's explosive dynamic All American level wrestling combined with his fluid boxing and powerful punches make him a tough match for any lightweight in the world, and as time progresses, the 20 year old will only continue to add tools to his game and gain experience along the way. When asked about his future as an athlete, Kevin proclaims he "just wants an opportunity to compete and showcase my skills for my family. Honestly my family relies on my success, and I'm not going to let them down. MMA is something I love, I'm a huge fan even if I wasn't a fighter, and it has allowed me an opportunity to put myself through school. I just need to put in the hard work, and hopefully it pays off one day for everyone."
Watch out folks, this is certainly a prospect to keep your eyes on.
