About Nathan »

I have loved and participated in sports all my life with my two real passions being Football [Soccer] and Rugby League. My talent however is, or was a while ago, writing. I am so pleased to have accidently stumbled across this website as I allows me to combine my first two loves: Sports and English. Please please contact me with anything you have to say about any articles or comments I write or any opinions I express- good or bad. Thanks very much.

The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

Wayne Rooney, Adrian Peterson, Randy Orton, Muhammad Ali, Tim Cahill, Jon Wilkin, Stanley Gene, Leon Pryce, Rob Burrow, Sergio Aguero, Jimmy Bullard, John Morrison, Andrew Strauss, Peyton Manning.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Manchester United, Hull City [English Premier League], Hull Kingston Rovers [English Super League] and the St Louis Rams

  • Favorite Coaches

    Alex Ferguson

  • All Time Sports Moment

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scoring a last minute goal to win the European Cup for Manchester United in 1999. That drama will never ever be matched in a sporting arena.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Hull City vs Bristol City, 2008 English Championship Playoff Final, Wembley. Although the game was a rather dull 1-0 victory to Hull, the atmosphere was something I shall never forget, neither is what this promotion to the first tier of English football meant to the City of Hull. Its people had waited 104 years for it, and it was fully deserved.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

  • Ruth or Mays?

  • Unitas or Montana?

  • Jordan or Russell?

  • Gretzky or Orr?

  • Pele or Maradona?

Maradona. I've actually watched this man in action and what he can do with a football is mind-blowing. A true genius. Although I would suggest that the question should not be "Pele or Maradona", but rather "Best or Maradona" because although Pele was one of the greats of all time- certainly a great goal-scorer. Maradona and Best were surely the greatest players, the greatest entertainers. And that, at the end of a hard long working week, is what the fans pay money for.

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Federer

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    Schumacher

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Attention all participants in the HiaC prediction competition!

The match of R-Truth vs Drew McIntyre has been added to the card. This will be worth 1 point, so if you could leave your prediction to this match as a reply to your original guesses, this would be much obliged!

You don't have to predict this match, but 1 point could be the difference between winning and losing!
