Long John's Bio

I dont like fidgeting with my profile constantly.

But this truly belonged to the rarefied air …

As I write this I do have goose bumps all over my own physical self. 10/10/09 will be etched in my memory forever. As I have expressed before, there is a certain sense of ‘Rationalism’ that drives MY President … and there isn’t a better way to make economic, ethical, social and political decisions.

He isn’t the loudest voice in the room, but the most powerful voice. The way he got Pakistan to agree, to shut down the infiltrating troops into their northern border without creating a semblance of frenzy was vintage B.O. Just get the job done …. The theatrics can come later.

Sexual inclinations, constitution, (renewable energy), foreign policy, recession, combating terrorism – there is a power of reason that drives him, and the past actions and decisions culminated in him being awarded the highest honor that there exists in our little world.

One of the very few I will hold with the highest regard and respect. ‘AoH’ changed me significantly.

Thank You … Thank You Barack for ‘The Power of Reason’ and ‘Audacity of Hope’ … So Proud. You did well

-------------------

Hi Dan – Mate, remember, I was one of the first ones to say hi to welcome you with open arms here. May be we are different personalities, but that is in fact our strength, not a limitation. I have contributed significantly to the development of your corporation … and have accepted all your decisions on my stride.

In the larger scheme of life, B/R is a little part of my life, but a very important one nonetheless. Track record plays an imperative role in decisions – and being from Kellog’s, you know that yourself. Being a scientist, I have a hard time comprehending something that does not have reasoning behind it.

What I would request is you at least provide us a blue print of what’s the reasoning behind the ranking? Track record, loyalty and longevity to and in B/R, why is that not a factor? And by saying ‘you are only as good your last three articles’ and are valuable to us based on ‘how many you have written and not how well’ it’s detrimental to the long term sustainability of your corporation. In your highly diversified portfolio, you really want to hold on to your blue chip stocks.

I am doing this because in terms of qualification, am probably just as good as you – but in an entirely different discipline. Hence I know this must make sense to you, you know where to find me mate. This isn’t jealously, spite, anger or none of that, just curiosity on what you are thinking. We should talk … when you have time send me a line.

If this does not work out am sure we both will carry on with our lives blissfully happy … but I at least wanted to take the initiative to find out what you are doing. Talk to us .... transparency helps management and the labor force.

Cheers

  1. Well, I guess that one too was a "successful partnership"?

    Cheers-

  2. Yes!

  3. Serena Williams is on Jonathan Ross tonight! Thought you might be interested (although I dunno whether you will be able to get access to it somehow?!)

  4. Nah man, I think you've misunderstood me here b/c of Robert's responses.

Go back and read just my replies—I was never arguing the FC program is based on meritocracy across the board.

That bit was about Mitch and me, specifically.

My overall point was that Robert is leaping before he looks.

He doesn't have all the facts although he pretends to and I used the selection aspect of the FC program as an example i.e. many FCs have been selected outside the application process.

Furthermore, the FC application process never promises to be the exclusive means by which they are selected. From that perspective and ONLY that perspective, no injustice is done by selections of people who haven't applied.

Robert chose to turn my responses into a defense of the FC program in general.

Which is standard MO for those aware they have an inferior argument ;-)

Regardless, you know I'm always down for a little constructive disagreement. Thanks for keeping me honest.

Cheers (and sorry to hear about your efforts being denied, that is weak and probably a little left over fallout rather than reflection of your writing).

    Andy

  5. You are correct about what you said in your comment on Andy's BB about FC's.

  6. Happy to partner any time you want - keen to see "when you are gonna GO Gold ..."!
Macs: people forget that the 'windows' screens we all use now were created by Apple - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

  7. By they way, stop writing! I can't keep up with reading your work!

  8. Thanks for following the series. It started with my Mallory one which was triggered by another article, and she so inspired me (strong women achieving....that sort of stuff!) that I wanted to cover more. The excellent writing of Joan and Claudia will, I hope, draw in the interest that these great women players deserve.

  9. Thanks for the post buddy. I do not expect anything but the truth to come out. If they cannot see what is happening then I will make them look at it. God Bless!

  10. Hello Buddy, take a look at this important article. It will most likely be my last on bleacher report. Feel free to pass it around. Thank you very much and God Bless!

  11. Thanks for the comment mate.

I think what you have to look at with what I write on a daily basis is that I'm not able to see every match.

In fact, only when I'm at Tour events do I see a lot of tennis.

The truth is, writing about daily events becomes a rat race for stats, quotes and scores.

I do it for my site, and for B/R to keep people informed.

I try to share as much information as I can, but when working with limited resources, it's hard to describe what I would like.

I'm working on more editorial pieces, and I'm also looking to modify my recaps.

Thanks once again for you advice. Means a lot.

  12. Hard to believe there aren't even 25 players who reached the top in the 40+ years of open era!

  13. You'll have a long wait!

  14. I think this is the best I've read so far on the subject: http://www.tennis.com/features/general/features.aspx?id=190340
