Long's Bio

Hi - Am Long J. Silver, I love writing, learning and cooking Italian food. I study energy - economics for a living. Alex Zander (Captain Z) got me hooked to Bleachers ... and it has been a perfect medium for me to express my thoughts on sports. A special thanks to Jeff Gorman too, for consistently editing my pieces with time, you have been of immense help mate, thanks to both Captain Z and Jeff !

The only thing I can hope is my persona comes out through my articles, I would most probably write about f-1, tennis and may be even cricket a little bit ...

I'll try to be as unbiased in my articles as possible -

I also love, Sketching, Thinking, Walking, Aus Cric Team, Kevin Pietersen, Lleyton Hewitt, Roger Federer, Shane Warne, Wayne Rooney, Music is the fuel that drives my engine ... I am also a 'Tifosi'

Writers I read over coffee (and general): Steve Slater, Goodwin, Harsha Bhogle, Michael Crichton, Sidney Sheldon, I love auto-bio's too, loved 'Out of My Comfort Zone', 'Kurt Cobain's Journals', as of now ... am reading Sampras' new auto-biography ...

and above all, a lovely cup of hazelnut cappuccino anytime, any day, any where.

Right now am in the 'Breaking Benjamin' Phase - fell in love with 'Diary of Jane' ... quite torturous

Somethin gettin in my way
Somethin just about to break
I'll try to find my place ... In the Diary of Jane

So tell me, how it should be,
try to find out, what makes you tick, as I lie down ... just lie for what I want to believe

Somethin gettin in my way
Somethin just about to break
I'll try to find my place ... In the Diary of Jane

As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find if theres a place ... In the Diary of Jane ... In the Diary of My Jane ...

Cheers Mate -

  1. Yes, that sounds fun, what did you have in mind. Have been working on a series the great cars of GP, so a break from that would be welcome.

  2. Yes I think I will be back from Germany in time

  3. Hi Long, am in Perth but most of my time is spent overseas. About to go to Thailand, The States, then back here before Germany!

  4. Congrats on being the Community Leader Long J! You've been writing some good stuff, I've enjoyed it.

I'll be looking to join you hopefully, so watch out! Haha

  5. Yep, it's a cool last name lol, bit of a giveaway that I'm half Irish.

I'm pretty confident Scolari can make a difference, last year we were very close with Grant and I don't think the squad needs a major overhaul. I still think we need a striker such as Villa or Huntelaar because we'll be pretty thin in that department if Drogba decides to go.

  6. Hello Mr. John Silver :)

Pleased to meet you! Thanks for the introduction, and if you ever need any help with developing something or just wanna be goofy, just click onto my profile :)

    Shaks

  7. Just shot you an email back...sorry for the delay.

  8. Ha ha thanks mate ... But a double vodka will go down better matey ... Ha ha ha ... I'll buy you a Guinness instead, ha ha ... I keep clearing my bulletins because I get a lot of them and I have mild OCD and just hate mess, I think they make my profile unbalanced and messy !

  9. Yeah mate ... Its just too much for me ... I will drink it if someone buys me one but not my cup of tea, ha ha !

  10. San Francisco, stop by any time! 330 Townsend street, Suite 212—across from the Cal Train station.

    Z

  11. I know you guys are! Pretty awesome man...F1 has really taken off on Bleacher Report as of late, so keep up the great work!

    Z

  12. Jeff is indeed the man—one of the best editors we've got. I'll make sure to let him know you're a fan of his work.

    Thanks as always,
    Z

  13. Thanks for you contribution mate, well appreciated.

  14. "Just a quick one mate, you any closer to having that round table submission ready for me?"

  15. Unfortunately there's currently no way to get two names on an article. What people usually do in this case is create a new user-account that explains it's both of you and then publish the article under that account.

Look forward to seeing how this turns out!

    Z
