    Don't know if that comment on the Carp v. Freak article was sincere, but I tend to give the benefit of the doubt until I see a reason not to, so...

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Incidentally, I was born in STL and the Redbirds were my first baseball love.

    Grew up listening to Jack Buck (still the only Buck worth listening to) on the radio and rootin' for the Wizard, Van Slyke, Willie, Tommy Herr, Pendelton, etc.

    Can even remember when the city went nuts over acquiring Tony Pena.

    1985 was crushing.

    Moved on to the Giants when my family moved West, but I'll always have a soft spot for the Cards.
