I'm currently (and always will be) a Cardinals fan. Most people ask why I like the Cardinals, and that can be attributed to my grandfather. You see, when my grandfather was a young man, he would go see Phillies games at Shibe Park. The Phillies were so atrocious that he began to root for the best visiting team, which happened to be Stan "The Man" Musial and his St. Louis Cardinals.
Most of what I know about baseball has been learned from my grandfather. I've heard of everything he's even seen, especially of the Runnin' Rebirds teams of the 1980's, from Don Denkinger and the '85 World Series to Joaquin Andujar's favorite English word.
I am only a young pup, but I like to pretend I am an old disciple of the game by saying things like "that itchy-row fella in Seattle is darn good."

And I can't verify this, but there's a good chance I'm the youngest Featured Columnist in the history of Bleacher Report.

Go to youtube and search Shibe Park and Connie Mack.
Great stuff.

Shibe Park was like a cathedral when I was very young, I worshiped there rarely so it became an even larger myth in my memories.
Stay the course.
Nice response to Tom.
That line about not giving 24 hours is a classic.
Evan - I know you are a defense guy - the MLB network is coming out with their Prime 9 best IFs ever - I thought you would like to take a turn at bat - so to speak - with the topic
they emphasize in the trailer that the IFs must be good both defensively and offensively
who are your picks - since the modern era began in 1901?
They are also coming out with best starting rotations - something I've been preparing for by taking cumulative WAR for any one season.
I'm looking forward to see which rotations they propose as the best -
