Hey warren. So sorry about the Thrashers. I think better ownership would have given them more of a chance to survive. scott

Hey Warren, TSN in Canada is listing Zach Bogosian as a trade possibility. Sounds crazy to me Their argument is that this year he's been a healthy scratch, he's "feuding" with an assistant coachj and has been tried out at forward (because of defensive shortcomings?) Have you heard any of this ? I saw more of him last year than this and he looked like a good mobile mean puck-moving defenseman. I can't imagine they'd trade a prospect this young who has looked already like a good NHL player. Sounds a little like Braydon Coburn for Alexei Zhitnik. which is something the Thrashers shouldn't attempt to duplicate.

The slightly disinterested and more than slightly confused Owners have doomed this team to have to bite and claw to attain mediocrity.

    warren:

just a few corrections on what is a farily decent observation.

#1--the flyers/soviet sereis was mid 1970s---not sure if you were there, but i was ( as a young young fan)

The soviets were hit at every turn, and not used to the NHL game. They did in fact leave the ice, and only returned when threatened not to be paid.

Thes current russian players , at least the good majority, al have NHL modern day expierience. Plain and simple, the pressure was on Canada as the host team and the favorite, and to thier credit, they stepped up and did what needed to be done. Canadain hockey could not afford an early loss/elmination, so they did what was on each of thier shouders: win this one, or else!

keep up the good hockey writing!

Hey Warren, Bryan told me ur also going to do an article on team Russia and told me to email you about how you wanna split up the articles.

You wanna write about the offensive firepower and ill do the defense and goal-tending (im more familiar with nabby and bryzgalov more than anyone on the team since i cover SJ)

whatever works. just let me know.
