Chris has yet to fill out a bio.
Hey Chris, we did great. Really great. Sorry i've only just seen this on my wall!
No, I don't think it was as controversial as some make out.
First penalty is nailed on. Second penalty is a penalty after watching it a billion times, as before Kosc gets a few studs to the ball (which arguably isn't enough contact), he brings Gabby down with his knee (the trailing leg)—see if you can see what I see.
There were a lot of 50.50 fouls that went Villa's way early on and the home fans got very annoyed, but I didn't think the referee got a lot wrong. He booked Luna, though, when Oxlade Chamberlain crunched him—got that one totally wrong.
Later, he gave a free kick against Benteke when Sagna salmon-dived straight over the top of him of his own volition and nearly broke his own neck.
One thing I do understand is that Vlaar should have been sent off for a second professional foul in the second half.
I did party a little re: Benteke. Fantastic news, made my Friday!
Egypt eh Sam. sounds incredible. glad to have you back though. looking forward to the next articles you put out.
Yeah it was fantastic! Egypt, Red Sea, snorkeling, camels etc. Very nice. It seems I missed a lot, though, and I'm playing serious catchup!
I picked up a copy of Bild at the hotel for a laugh. I use it daily to work on stories and I thought: "I've never had a copy, even if I can't read German!"
The guy sources it for me and, being cut off from communications, I'm in utter shock as it states "BAYERN HAT EINEN NEUEN SUPERSTAR" with a picture of Thiago.
It's a shame, but Man Utd pissed around too long and the Pep factor clearly won him over.
We'll see what my assignments are when I return to work here tomorrow. No doubt something on Thiago will come up.
He gives them a ridiculous wealth of options, and it would not surprise me to see the future Sebastian Rode transfer reneged on now. Luiz Gustavo is meant to be going up for sale as a consequence, what a pickup he'll be for someone.
If I'm United, I'm spending on Gustavo!
Yeah I'm not happy about the Strootman news. I was really hoping we would get him, because he's the type of midfielder we need, but now it's not looking good. However, there is still hope because directors do have a tendency to talk a load on nonsense sometimes.
If we don't get Strootman for what ever reason I still hope Moyes goes after a box-to-box midfielder like Strootman, because we're in dire need of one and we have been since arguably, when Roy Keane left. Apparently, according to some reports, we're after Geoffrey Kondogbia. Now he's what you call a midfield destroyer, standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, he can bully the opposition from midfield with precision tackling and great awareness. If we don't get Strootman, then Kondogbia would easily be as good as a buy, if not even better.
Yeah, I'm starting to get a bit worried now, but the latest I've heard of Thiago is that United have agreed to put a 20 million pound release clause in his contract if he doesn't get enough playing time, which seems inconceivable with the midfield we've got. So hopefully they can get that deal wrapped up quickly. I agree with you that if Moyes at least strengthens the midfield this summer, it would be a successful transfer window for us because frankly it's been atrocious the past few seasons.
This is the latest on Kevin Strootman, and it's not good news: http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/217985.html
This is what I think our summer transfer window is going to look like: I think we will sign Ezequeil Garay, Kevin Strootman and Thiago Alcantara and we will probably bring in another one or two youngsters for the future. I want Nani to stay, because on his day he can be one of the best wingers out there and I'm hoping Moyes can revitalise his form. Even though, he still hasn't made up his mind I think he will stay. Same goes for Rooney; I think he will end up staying and Moyes will hopefully get him fit. And lastly, it's looking more and more likely that Anderson is staying put aswell because nothing has really been said of him. What about you, what do you think?
Hey Chris, all good here. Thanks for the kind words on the Jimmy interview.
Will try to do plenty more of those =)
Not really. I'm going to try and find out tomorrow at Wembley during England vs. Ireland.
Desperate to know myself
