Michael's Bio

I'm Michael Griffin, and I'm 18 Years Old. I live in England, United Kingdom. I found Bleacher Report through an advert on Facebook. Once I discovered Bleacher Report, I decided to begin writing. It's almost taken over my life.

I mainly write about Formula One, but I also write on football, and now I am the Community Leader of the all-new darts section. I hope to have some type of job presenting Formula One on the radio. BBC Radio Five Live would be brilliant. How cool could that be?

I am a co-founder of the much acclaimed "Chequered Flag Roundtable", along with current Community Leader Ben Auty.

I created the popular Safety First series, where I looked at the various eras of Formula One and how safety improved as the years went by. I also created the brand-new weekly football predictions series known the Weekly Musings.

My life revolves around being a full time carer for my mother. I'm also trying to find out what's wrong with my health. The NHS can always be relied on..........

I'm currently hoping to learn to swim, and perhaps then begin training to become a pro swimmer. The best possible exercise in my opinion.

I hope to do an Open University Degree in Journalism and another in Maths, my favourite subject.

Manchester United supporter for 16 years and I've watched Formula One since I was born (quite literally, the 1990 United States Grand Prix was being repeated when I was born, freaky)

The first Formula One race that I have genuine memory of is the 1993 Hungarian Grand Prix, which Damon Hill won. Since then, I haven't missed a single Grand Prix. 15 years, that is dedication for you!

I hope to contribute more to this website. Thanks.

Hey Michael, just wanted to pop by and say thanks for the kind words and POTDs on my articles recently. It's much appreciated.

I always enjoy reading your stuff, it's all great to read. I hope to do an open uni journalism just as you stated above. I want to do one specifically in sports journalism but didn't see one of that title listed on the Open Uni site. Maybe I missed it.

I look forward to seeing which one of us fares better with the footy predictions over the season. I took the root of comparing myself to Mark Lawrenson who I always made fun of. I fare after last week's results he has a comfortable margin over. haha.

Hey mate ,

Yeah i think we was cool the way we was before with the F1 section , i dont like the conflict caused on the article of Pauls tho , its tearing the F1 Community apart and that is no good for our credability , it has really split the community right down the middle .

As for BatRacer im in exactly the same boat as you , I just go to set up , stick on Hard cut slicks ( green ) low front wing , High rear wing ( not too high tho ) for Sepang i would use hard suspension as there are no Kerbs to fly over its more or less flat , Its a weird thing to get the hang of , we would need to be F1 Mechanics to know how to set them up properly , im just going with the Flow on it .

MG,

Thanks for asking about my mother's health. She is on the road to recovery, touch wood! We have to take her for a CT scan in a few day's time. We are hoping that docs won't find any major problems. Right now she had a cardio angioplasty and stents implanted. She had so many electric shocks to revive her out of her heart attack and a weak heart that we are all worried and she is under severe trauma due to the shocks.

It is the good wishes and prayers of well wishers that are helping her. Thank you.

Hey Michael,

What did you make of the game last night? I thought Tevez was fantastic and I havent seen him play a bad game yet. Really could be his season. I thought Rooney was way off the mark and I think if we snatch Berba then I think its time that Rooney spent some time on the bench to get a rest and plus it might give him a good kick up the arse! :)

Dissapointing to lose a trophy we so easily could have won, but all credit to Zenit, they were fantastic. No long balls, exceptional passing, they were a joy to watch. And if United are to lose Id rather them lose against a side like Zenit than anyone else.

hahaha I'll just say no :)

I was on the books of a pro team for 2 years as a 16 -18 year old and made two sub appearances before dropping down to the semi pro ranks where I scored a few goals but there wasn't much opportunity so I headed to college to be a Journo :)

I did write about the UEFA Cup final tho :P

Sounds good though mate...I was only ever sent off once and that was at school lol

My mate Jamie turned me into a decent pro in SA once on FM but nothing like this. You should get the English job mate.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I was sort of out of commission for the past few days as my mother had a massive heart attack and I was close to losing her. Yet to be out of the shock of it.

Just today my mom had a stent implanted in her right artery through angio plast.

I am typing this from the hospital as I await for her to be discharged in another 2 days. She is right now in the post cath lab and I am not allowed in there so I taking the time out to type out this email.

So you live in Gravesend. That's pretty cool. Yeah hopefully there'll be an Ebbsfleet v Gillingham game in the JPT or something.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion on my EPL 08/09 predictions. Other people have questioned why I said WHU to go down, but I have my reasons, and I responded to the comment you made.

Also, I'm a United supporter as well (along with the Gills!) and I too found out about Bleacher Report through an advert on Facebook!

I know , the darts section is doing great .

Nicholas has just saidon my article that he loves darts and is going to write himself , so thats three on board within 48 hours , nice .

I asked about GTA4 because i wanted to ask , Do you feel they are holding back ?

Everytime GTA comes out , its always better than the last but i feel they Hold back so they can stretch more games from it , which i find frustrating .

They havent got the Turning corners right , the braking , The aiming a weapon .

Dont get me wrong its a great game but they always Frustrate me big style .

I have always tried to be open and honest and as far as I know have never stepped on your toes.

During the Hamilton interview when the site was not updating fast enough, I had made repeated requests to Ryan Albreti and other editors to showcase your piece. You can check with them. Since I wanted to give you the spotlight, and since I was at No:2, in the Top Writer position, and you were doing such a great job, I went and edited out all the "Formula One" tags from my articles till then.

I am really shocked and bewildered as to why you should use the connotation of "good enough for ya" in the news article on Bridgestone Tyres. That is a personal attack, and it is uncalled for. I was merely trying to recap the news. Secondly, Bridgestone is the favored supplier and you can look at the cases they have had in the past including the recalled tyres on the Fords a couple of years back (Bridgestone Firestone). There are a lot of things I could put there, but did not in the interest of covering only news items, not history.

Okay, even my friend Maria from Netherlands is a big fan of yours on this site and she spoke highly of you.

I generally don't bother with such people or such comments but I thought I should just let you know cause your profile speaks of a caring and sensitive individual.

PS: Bridgestone has released a statement after the ones that you quoted. And Bridgestone has always gotten off scotfree by blaming everything under the sun except its tyre. Look at their history in consumer cars too..

Coz i had 4 ex united players in my squad and 1 current united player it " was no surprise " as im a united fan , its bull shizzle . Like you said the players were not united players before or after so what is the problem , its hardly being biased .

ah well , have you seen that Rowanne i think she is called ? pretty cute but she is a chelsea fan , damn :-)
