Michael's Bio

Michael's back! After a work schedule induced break from writing Michael is back and ready to go full throttle. Most recently signed on to cover the ACC for College Football Campus the former Tar Heel also maintains a weekly podcast covering everything that is sports.

Michael Felder is a former college football player who still loves the game. He brings the same attention to detail, student of the game approach to his writing that he brought to the field as an undersized scrappy safety for the UNC Tar Heels.

Since he didn't so much play as he practiced, observation is natural to Michael. His ability to break down and interpret film helps him see inside the game and deliver the findings in a way casual fans and experts can truly appreciate.

Michael has had multiple articles, including several installments of his "2008 Battle at the Top" series featured on SI.com's Campusclicks.

Although Michael's writing is rooted in college football, he's an avid follower of the NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAA baseball and NCAA basketball (he went to Carolina how could he not). His experiences in the arena help him bridge the ever growing gap between fans and the players they love or love to hate.

  1. Hi Michael, thanks for the post! I haven't heard anything about the NY Giants player Goddard you mentioned but he is on my radar now thanks.

  2. Hey, latest Roethlisberger articles finished. This could be the final one and personally, I think I saved the best for last.

  3. Oh ok, now it makes more sense to me. Sorry for the confusion!

    Thanks!

  4. Everything I've read and know tell me that it's marijuana.

I don't see it effecting his draft stock too much though, Aquib Talib was in a similar situation last year and he went on to have a good rookie season with the Buccaneers.

Raji will be just fine, there's a few teams out there that are going to need a defensive tackle. His pros far outweigh his cons.

  5. Your comments on the recent CBB articles are enough to make me a fan -- you really have a great perspective and obviously know your stuff. I look forward to reading more of your articles and comments!

And I didn't even see til just now that you're a fellow Tar Heel!! It's great to have you in the CBB section, and of course ... GO HEELS! I'm the community leader of the UNC basketball section, so if you ever have any suggestions, etc., please feel free to let me know!

  6. Check out my latest - A little something for the bleacher creatures!

  7. Hey Michael—Dave Mo here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.

I've been spending time on our UNC football page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.

Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?

If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at dmorrison@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.

    Thanks so much,

    Dave Mo

  8. I hear ya man, I've taken over as the UNCP sports editor for our school paper so the only writing I've been doing has been for them. After writing 6 or 7 articles a week for the school I hardley want to touch a keyboard to write on here haha. I'll make sure to scream twice as loud next weekend for you not being there.

  9. nasty game yesterday
    see that #22 AP ranking?

  10. Did you see yates is out for at least six weeks. I think UNC football is cursed I swear.

  11. http://bleacherreport.com/tags/college-football/ballots/5

Voting is open for this week's Top25

  12. Thar was a stunning performance, I am still stunned by it on several counts. Carolina has the talent to contend now, will Butch drag them down when he needs to make the big game time decision.
On th eother side of the ball I saw some really discouraging signs of where the Big East is this year, We'll know more after tonight. Maybe they'll take some of the heat off of the ACC haters.
