I went to school at Indiana University where NCAA Basketball entrenched itself into my fanhood. Growing up on Long Island there was never an obvious team to pull for in college, attending Indiana University changed all that for me. I saw Mike Davis, Kelvin Sampson, Dan Dakich and Tom Crean all coach the likes of D.J. White, Eric Gordon and Jordan Crawford in my four year run in Bloomington.
As far as the New York Jets, I am a Mark Sanchez supporter... for now. His first two years he may have been the weakness, as most rookie/sophomore quarterbacks would be. However, this year it seems as though there are more concerning holes elsewhere on the roster and Sanchez seems to be playing his best ball. Any man dating Eva Longoria will gain my support, period.
My love for the Knicks has gotten stronger year by year - I love the personnel that we have brought in both as coaches and players. However, I need to be honest, we simply don't have the talent to win a championship in this NBA league. I don't even feel bad saying it, there is really only about 3 or 4 teams that do possess the talent. The knicks have put together a very deep roster built with two max contracts, a reigning defensive player of the year and role players. Aside from the issue that Carmelo and Amare seem to have trouble with chemistry, I am not sure that Amare will ever be the same player that earned him that contract. Hopeful but not optimistic.
Yankees, best team in the history of sports. Growing up in NY and cheering for the Yankees is a layup.
