More to the Cal and Stanford Rivalry Than Just 'The Play'
11/21/2009
Grant Marek covered the Cal football team from 2003-2005 and has written for Sports Illustrated, the San Francisco Examiner and Daily Californian, among others. Email him at grantmarek@hotmail.com.
Booing Tiger Woods, rushing the Stanford field - and the game itself was pretty good too.
Did you happen to make it?
PS Unfortunately, the Daily Cal lost the Ink Bowl. We'll hope to reclaim it at home next year.

It's the ninth most played rivalry in college football history and yet Cal-Stanford amounts to little more than five laterals and a trampled trombone player...

Grant-
Thought of you yesterday when I read about the Holiday Bowl extending it's agreement with Pac-10/Big 12...
What struck me is that Pac-10 #2 continues to be stacked up against Big12 #4, despite the fact that the west coast has done so well in the postseason of late.
What gives?? Might make for an article topic sometime. You'd be well-equipped to address.
Also, thought I'd share my ND thoughts with you before heading to the big game: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/271813-notre-dame-dilemma-charlie-weis-career-tied-to-jimmy-clausen-not-usc
Take care.

Clausen and Best better go to NYC.
Jimmy Clausen has been the best quarterback in the past 240 minutes of college football. Will he be invited to New York this year, or will the Tebow's of the nation get their pre-reserved seats?
Don't be shy.
