About

I'm a born and raised New Yorker which means that I boo a guy and call for his ouster when he strikes out looking and I'm ready to enshrine him in the Hall of Fame when he hits a 3-run homer on his next at bat. I've been a passionate Yankees, Jets and Knicks fan for a couple decades now and I definitely won't spare the rod when dishing about the latest trade, acquisition or coaching move. I curse ESPN for re-running Sportscenter numerous times in a row thus forcing me to be late for work because I'm watching the same Top Plays for the third time that morning. In all, I watch, play and read about sports way too much to still not have a fantasy title under my belt. Always a bridesmaid...

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

In no particular order: Jackie Robinson, Chauncey Billups, Michael Vick (yeah, I said it), Rickey Henderson, Magic Johnson, Walter Payton, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Al Toon, Charles Oakley, John Starks, Nate Robinson, Jerome Bettis, Ron Guidry, Willie Randolph, Dave Righetti, Mookie Wilson, Vinny Testaverde, Bo Jackson, Neon Deion Sanders

  • Favorite Sports Teams

New York all the way: Yankees, Jets, Knicks, Rangers. Biggups to Syracuse and St. John's in college basketball and USC on the NCAA gridiron.

  • Favorite Coaches

Joe Torre, Billy Martin, Bill Parcells, Rick Pitino, Larry Brown, Doc Rivers,

  • All-Time Sports Moment

The Yankees winning it all in '96 and running outside of my Bronx apartment to honking horns, people screaming in the streets and someone even set off fireworks. It was like New Year's, the 4th of July and Christmas all wrapped up into one as people were literally hugging complete strangers in the street.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

1998 NBA All Star Game. It was my first time seeing Michael Jordan play in real life and it was amazing.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

UCLA's seven consecutive NCAA titles. That's just not going to happen again.

  • Ruth or Mays?

It's tough but I'm leaning towards Ruth very slightly. Willie Mays is, without question, among the most athletic and productive players in MLB history but the Babe revolutionized the game.

  • Unitas or Montana?

I have to go with Montana on this one.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Bill Russell is a pure winner, a class act and easily one of the greatest players in NBA history but Michael Jordan WAS the league for so many years. The iconic buzzer beaters, the slam dunk championships, the endorsements. The took the entire sport to a whole new level.

  • Federer or Sampras?

It's a toss up. They both had their time as the unbeatable alpha male of tennis.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Gotta go Tiger. Jack is a classic and his accomplishments speak for themself but Tiger is still in his prime.

Thanks to BR, I recently interviewed Knicks legend Earl Monroe. Here is what he had to say on a variety of topics, including the current state of the Knicks!

Since all else has failed, I see no reason for the Knicks not to sign Allen Iverson.
