Long time Bay Area sports fan and aspiring sports writer. I'm a die hard Giants, 49ers and Warriors fan. Not many people can say that. I'm hoping to start a career in sports writing and hope to major in journalism in college. Currently I write for my local newspaper.

Joey,
Let me try to help you. A couple of things: First, this is not a blog. Blogs do not have other people editting them. Two, leave your message board alone only deleting posts that are meant to anger you (thats for the future when it expands). Three, embed at least 3 links per article--this is how you win over a reader and earn credibility.
Become a fan of another writer and theyll become yours. Pick out a writer who's style and technique you like and ask him (or her) for some help (editting or style). They all like to help and no one will refuse you. Trust me.
People come into the B/Report all the time seemingly on fire from blogging or message boards. Consider this place the All Star Team of Bloggers. Typical Mesage Board fighting is not what this place is about; but depending on how controversial a headline might be; its exactly what happens.
On the other hand, your article has gotten as many repsonses as Ive seen in quite some time. Thats rare. Comments are tracked to judge your writing skill level. I would rely on "like" ratings though.
Take it from me, who covered Clemens while believing him--yes, I still do too--you may not want to respond at all under your articles for a while--until your more used to the flow.
If you are an aspiring writer, then you are in the right place. Feel free to ask for help, any time. Including of those harassing you under that one piece.
I could give a shit about being a journalist, which in a strange way made it all the more possible. Been there, done that. But what sports fan wouldnt take an offer from Fox or CBS? It would make nice side-work, right? On the other-hand, they dont pay enough for most to pursue with any serious full time effort. You have to be really good and this is where it starts.
Writers are a dime a dozen and a writers hard effort is all that separates him from the others.
I can see that you have passion and that you come from the right place...your following your heart. Kudos for that. And dont sweat the small stuff. if you get trapped in commenting wars, remind the reader that youre in high school. If that doesnt help--come get me. ;)
Keep on brother.
