Tim Writes About

The Short List facts and information about Tim Yu

Favorite Athletes

Joleon Lescott, Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill, Jimmy Brennan, Mats Sundin, Curtis Joseph, Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor

Favorite Sports Teams

Everton, Toronto FC, England National Football Team, Toronto Maple Leafs, Miami Dolphins

All Time Sports Moment

David Beckham's free kick against Greece to send England to the 2002 World Cup

Most Memorable Game Attended

Chile 3-0 Congo; Group Stages of U-20 FIFA World Cup. It wasn't your typical tightly-contested affair but by the end of the game Chile football had won the hearts of soccer fans in Edmonton with their first-class ability. You could see on the Chilean faces that they were having as much fun as the fans did and I can still vividly remember the smiles plastered on everybody after the game--even if you were a Congo fan beforehand.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

50 goals in 39 games by Wayne Gretzky during his glory days with the Edmonton Oilers. If there was one man that could eventually break that record in our generation, it would be Alexander Ovechkin. But until then, it's a record that nobody in the hockey world could touch even if they wanted to.

Unitas or Montana?

Dan Marino may never have won the Super Bowl but he'll always be the greatest quarterback of all time for me. He never had the teams that Montana had around him and who could forget the memorable "Fake Spike Game"?

Pele or Maradona?

I'll have to go with Zizou (Zinedine Zidane) as I never had the opportunity to see Pele or Maradona play in their prime. I'll never forget the way he walked off the pitch when he single handedly won France the game against England back in Euro 2004. Say what you want about Zidane's headbutt at the World Cup but in my books he's all the way at the top.

Like the article said I have a bit of considering to do..a couple of Turkish teams,a few from Scotland,Coventry for England and Melbourne Victory from Australia are interested in me.I was over in Scotland a few weeks ago and the trials went well,my agent who happens to be my brother is looking at the contract offers and we'll see how it pans out..

Thanks for asking Tim and you've got a great streak going..your last four articles..about the nhl, la galaxy,Benjani and Avram Grant were all breath taking..looking forward to whats next.

  12. Thanks for the Pick vote, Tim!

  13. no problem...when i was editing your article it took me to the screen where you submit the article instead of where you finish editing...so unfortunately the article then got published under my name as well...i wanted to give you a heads up so you did not think i was trying to steal your thunder or anything....i will figure out how to get it deleted asap...great work i really enjoyed it.

  14. Hey Tim

I'm a little worried as the players are looking tired. 4 trophies is a lot to ask and I can't make up my mind between the chance of a UEFA Cup final or a domestic treble.

We will just have to do what we did in Greece. Try and hold on and nick the away goal.

    Cheers mate

  15. No Problem..Tim..Glad you asked..Forget to upload it..I think I might be heading to Merseyside again..not sure to catch up with who..If something pops up,ill post it on BR..

    Thanks Mate,
    SS
