Robert Givens is currently a junior at the University of Missouri's School of Journalism where he also teaches party lessons. Born and raised in St Louis, Givens can remember crying his eyes out after his beloved Cardinals blew a 3-1 lead in the 1996 NLCS to the Braves only to taste the sweet taste of World Series glory a decade later. Never mind the fact he missed the decisive game 5 because of a fraternity camping trip...
Aside from the Birds, Givens actively follows all things Mizzou especially Mike Anderson's Fastest 40 Minutes in basketball. Also, any opportunity to watch the Kansas Jayhawks and Chicago Cubs fail at anything is almost as sweet as watching the Tigers hang triple digits on an opponent. Additionally, having spent two years at the University of Denver, Givens has developed a proclivity for skiing and snowboarding and ranks watching Tanner Hall and Simon Dumont tear up the halfpipe at the X-Games in 2008 as one of his top sports memories.
Also, be sure to check out Givens's work on the Missouri Tigers at http://www.examiner.com/x-39302-Missouri-Tigers-Examiner.
