Michael Grabner Is a Pleasant Surprise for the Young Islanders
February 15, 2011
I'm a junior journalism major at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
I love sports, as well as broadcasting and writing about them. I'm a die-hard New York Mets fan, and I really love my Islanders and Jets as well. I also am a big soccer fan (due to the fact that I play alot) and I really like Israeli teams, and Arsenal FC.
I also am a huge fan of the Indiana Hoosiers Football, Basketball, and Soccer teams, and I have broadcasted multiple basketball games and numerous Soccer games already for the campus radio station, WIUX. I have done both play by play as well as color commentary. I also look forward to writing about my beloved Hoosiers here on Bleacher Report.

Hey tom. I was on a bit of a hiatus too due to Finals, and then the after finals burnout. But now with the new year im ready to get back to work. I was going to write an article about Watford, and how he has changed this year from last. Maybe i can do an article on all the sophomores, on their changes since last year so far. What do you think?
Dan,
Nice articles recently. Hey, do you have anything on tap so we don't overlap? I've been on a bit of a hiatus, but now I'm good for a few articles a week.
In fact, I'm live blogging the IU/ILL game on Jan. 27, so I hope that doesn't interfere with anything. In any case, I'll keep you posted and let you know before I write any articles.
Again, good work. Write back so we can brainstorm some ideas.
Tom
Sorry, one more thing. I think we need to find a different "angle" on this IU season. Game recaps, especially, don't seem to go over all that well, and blogs seem to be a tough sell. Recruiting always gets reads, but there's only so much we could write about Zeller, etc.
I say we need more slideshow lists (best Bob Knight teams, best players in the 80s, 90s, best Knight quotes, biggest IU busts, etc., etc.). People love reading about the Knight era—and slideshows tend to go over much better than standard articles.
As for this season, previews/predictions do well, so perhaps we could preview each "big" game (Kentucky, conference games). We could publish such articles the day after the previous game so it will have a few days to gain steam.
Those are my ideas...for now anyway. What do you think?
Hey Dan, I liked your live blog. Unfortunately, it seems that all the B/R reads are still with college football. I've had a same problem with a few of my IU articles, which only get a hundred or two hundred hits. To most people—especially CFB fans—college hoops doesn't start until conference play begins and the bowl season ends. Sad but true. In any case, good job.
Tchani impressive...AGAIN. I am calling that boy will play for the USA.

Yo, I'm a junior at IU and I love your writing. Keep up the good work. Hopefully our Hoosiers can have a good summer leading into next year. Up Gunners too.
