Greg's Bio

I am a writer who hails from Wayne County, IN. In addition to contributing to the Bleacher Report, I provide the North Carolina content on mvn.com. I also write an occasional current events humor column for my local newspaper, the Palladium-Item. You'll generally find me watching Carolina basketball, Cincinnati Reds' baseball and Indianapolis Colts' football when I'm not chasing my two year-old daughter and infant son around the house. Or my wife, for that matter.

The Short List facts and information about Greg Adams

Favorite Athletes

Tyler Hansbrough, Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Jeff Saturday, Marvin Harrison, Dallas Clark, Jeff Keppinger, Brandon Phillips, Aaron Harang, Carson Palmer... there are probably more, but this is a good start.

Favorite Sports Teams

University of North Carolina Tar Heels, Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, any Indiana college or university.

All Time Sports Moment

There are two. UNC's 1993 National Championship--my favorite team EVER--and Keith Smart's game-winner versus Syracuse in 1987. That IU team is one of my favorite all-time teams in any sport.

Most Memorable Game Attended

My aunt and uncle, who both reside in North Carolina, somehow arranged to fly me down to see the Tar Heels play in the Dean Dome. Carolina blew out the Demon Deacons. I'll never forget it.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cy Young won 511 major league baseball games. Simply untouchable.

Ruth or Mays?

The Babe, baby. Let's be very clear about this: the game of baseball as we know it would not exist if not for George Herman Ruth, Jr. The man could even pitch a little.

Unitas or Montana?

Joe Montana. The Gold Standard.

Pele or Maradona?

What... soccer? Are you KIDDING me?!? Um...Pele.

Jordan or Gretzky?

His Airness. No contest here. I'm a Carolina guy...

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big Ten and ACC. In that order.

  1. Greg, I'm not working from a computer with firefox so the editor's feedback really isn't working. Here are my thoughts, feel free to delete this post if you want.

Hilarious article! I just tweaked your headline and teaser a bit. I also made some minor changes to style. Make sure it all checks out to your liking. Great work!

  2. Greg, thanks for the post. Being a McGee fan, you'll appreciate that I have the ticket stub and box score from 8 August, 1996. On that day, Willie got his 2000th career hit in a loss to the Giants 3-5.
