Don Bradman's Test average - a heartbreaking 99.94. Dixie Dean's records come a close second - 383 goals in 433 appearances for Everton, 60 league goals in one season.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Ruth. She's much nicer.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele - his hands were only ever on the trophies, not the ball.

  • Federer or Sampras?

Both have achilles' heels at the French, but I'd plump for the Fed through his sheer and unadulterated class with every stroke he makes.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

The Golden Bear until Tiger beats his 18 Majors record.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Senna for me; a tragic loss to the sport and one that has had permanent repercussions.

  4. Hey Jon,

I've written an article about Liverpool with religious connections as it is Easter Sunday. Now, I'm not the most religious guy on this earth, as you may have guessed, so I'm not sure how it has come out! I would appreciate your thoughts and views on it as I'm not convinced it came out as well as I had planned!

  6. Hi Jon,

Your POTD was well worth it.

As to the tags - I always rammed as many tags on an article as i could to, like you say, increase traffic.

But after spending a few months here and getting to know the system - as well as the b/r rules on tagging - I realise how frustrating it is to spend time writing an article for it to be knocked off the Liverpool front page by 2-3 articles that are tagged wrongly.

I now advertise by using facebook etc, it gets quite a few hundred reads straight away by publishing in ure news feed as well as posting it in applications relevant to your team.

There is of course the obvious twitter and myspace alternitives.

Thanks for chatting to me about it and take care,

    Jamie

  7. Alan Shearer takes the reigns at Newcastle United, but I think he needs a bit more than 7 weeks. Sing this parody and comment on what you think fate has in store:

  11. Hey Jon—Dave Mo here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.

I've been spending time on our Cricket page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.

Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?

If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at dmorrison@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.

    Thanks so much,

    Dave Mo

  12. Hey Jon—how's it going?

Just wanted to check in and see how things in the Cricket Community were going. Seems like we're getting a solid base of writers together but that we're having more trouble generating discussions in the threads...

What about writing on the bulletin boards of the Community's top members and encouraging them to get more involved/comment on every article? This also might be a good time to begin publishing a weekly Round Table where you get the best Cricket minds on B/r together to talk about the game each week.

Let me know thoughts when you have a chance. Hope you're having a great summer!!

    Zander
