Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

    Dan Majerle, John Elway

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Denver Broncos, Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Vikings, University of Minnesota Golden Gophers

  • Favorite Coaches

Jacques Lemaire, Paul Westphal, Flip Saunders, Mike Shanahan, Gary Kubiak, Mike Scioscia, Rick Anderson, Tubby Smith, Don Lucia, John Fox

  • All-Time Sports Moment

John Elway diving for a first down late in Super Bowl XXXII. A.K.A. The Helicopter Dive

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Minnesota Gophers football team 6-0 playing Michigan Wolverines 6-0, Gophers lead 35-14 in fourth quarter, end up losing and their season fell apart.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Joe DiMaggio - 56 Game Hit Streak - UNTOUCHABLE

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth - Easy, less teams, better pitchers faced, pressure of being "THE" guy

  • Unitas or Montana?

Johnny Unitas - Montana had so many more oprtions around him supporting the great 49ers teams. Unitas brought life to a lifeless franchise

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan hands down - He could have had as many rings as he wanted - He left for a year - He probably retired earlier than he needed too

  • Gretzky or Orr?

The Great One was the most skilled hockey player I have ever seen.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Who? How about Abby Wambach :)?

  • Federer or Sampras?

I would have to go with Sampras. As soon as Federer had competition in Nadal and Djokovic he was not nearly as impressive.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger. Give him time to get his mind right. Divorces are a painful heartache nobody wants to go through. None of us will ever

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

It's a tie. Petty is the reason racing got as popular as it did. Earnhardt is one of the greatest race car drivers I have ever seen.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

I have never watched a grand prix race other than bits and pieces of the Indy 500.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

Big Ten - I can't stand how cocky the SEC is when it comes to football. I am so sick of the "Spread" offense. I would rather watch a 14-10 defensive battle any day.

Re: "Garbage Dump" First, it's a garbage incinerator. Second, it's not smoke, it's filtered steam--it has no odor. Take any journalism classes? It's called research. Moron.

Welcome to the horse racing community!

Glad to see another aspiring race-caller on here. Lucky you having Paul Allen nearby. Top-notch caller.

This past Monday, I had one of the greatest opportunities of my writing career.

An interview with NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback, Fran Tarkenton.

He talked about everything from Brett Favre, to Peyton Manning, to business.

If you have a free moment, I'd love to get your thoughts on the interview...

    Hey,

It's a tiny bit late as it took longer than expected to write it, but my review of 2009 is finally here! Last year's one won the AOTD award and hopefully I've done enough on this one to equal that feat, but I'll leave you to be the judge of that!

With 25 great moments from 12 different sports, and with everyone from Barcelona to France, the Yankees to the Lakers, and Usain Bolt to Tiger Woods there is something for everyone in this slideshow, plus a ranked top ten as the final slide!

If you get a chance would you mind checking it out? Cheers!

    Hey Dan,

After another exciting weekend in the NFL, it turns out the Ravens and Jets control their own destiny to the playoffs.
