I became a Dodgers fan in 1988. I was 9 years old. Orel Hershiser was the best pitcher, next to Fernando Valenzuela of course. Kirk Gibson hit the miracle home run and all was well in Dodger world. You see, living where we did, most of us in the house were Braves fans. For some reason at this time, the Braves were in the NL West, so to counter that view, I began rooting for the team that was most hated at the time by the Braves: you guessed it, my beloved Los Angeles Dodgers.
