Alan's Bio
I'm very simple: I love to write, and I love hockey more than anything in the world. My world and my life revolves around hockey. My work revolves around what time the game is on TV. Hockey is a priority. That's it. Hockey is a priority.
I am currently attending Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. I will be majoring in psychology and minoring in business. This is to answer all questions about whether or not I want to go into journalism. No I don't, but my first year seminar was a journalism class, and I plan on taking other classes like this.
I am first a hockey fan, THEN a Flyers' fan.
My dream is to go into hockey management, and one can easily see why through all of my hockey articles.
I am the community leader for the NHL and Philadelphia Flyers' page on Bleacher Report, and enjoy writing more than anything else. Unlike others, I will take whatever you have to say, no matter how inappropriate. You can't get me off the site by yelling at me and cursing me off, so there's no bother trying.
I am also a writer for Hockey54.com, Insidehockey.com and Prohockeynews.com.
I am currently an intern with The Hockey News magazine.
If you have any questions about anything or anyone on this site, or if you just want to talk hockey, please feel free to message me on BR, Facebook, through e-mail at ALN424@aol.com or through AIM at ALN424.
Thank you to everyone for continuing to read my articles, and good luck with your own writing!

Thanks for the feedback on my article Alan. I'm out of work right now, so I'm enjoying following the draft and the free agency frenzy. Writing for BR has certainly increased my knowledge and appreciation of hockey outside of just enjoying the games themselves. You are definitely a reason for that. GO PENS!!!

Hey Alan,
I know your not a fan of the Chris Pronger trade per say, but this is what I think of the trade. I like it a lot, think its worth trying to win and he gives the Flyers a better shot. Also, Brian Boucher is rumored to be signing with the Flyers and could Mike Knuble resign?
Love your opinion on it, I know you don't like it a lot, but you have to admit it gives the Flyers a better chance to win!

Thanks for reading and commenting on my article, Alan. Actually I do know what is going on and it is not very good for Hamilton fans. While the NHL did not say, "JIm you can't have a franchise" publicly, privately that is the case. The NHL does NOT want Balsillie. Ever. He has antagonized them so much by trying to show them up that he will be the last option considered. The only way he will get control of the Coyotes or any other NHL team is if the NHL cannot find another buyer and doesn't want to own or run a team at a loss. Hamilton may get a franchise, perhaps even the Coyotes, but not with Balsillie as owner, if the governors can help it. And even if the NHL announces expansion and Balsillie is given a chance to "come in through the front door", as soon as they they see his name on any bid, that bid will automatically be rejected with some excuse made as a cover. Balsillie would do better to get a CFL franchise now.
