Jeffrey's Bio

I'm a lifelong Houstonian and University of Houston graduate. Naturally, I've been a huge Houston sports fan my entire life.

However, I do follow teams outside of Houston. I'm a big NFL fan and big college football and college basketball fan.

I recently began a blog on Houston sports. If you get a chance, check it out at http://houstonsportsnut.com

The Short List What Jeffrey thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

Muhammad Ali, Hakeem Olajuwon, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Nolan Ryan, Craig Biggio.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Texans, Houston Cougars.

  • All Time Sports Moment

The Catch II - Terrell Owens' 25-yard touchdown catch to beat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional playoffs on January 3, 1999.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Game 5 of the 2005 National League Championship Series (Houston Astros vs. St. Louis Cardinals). Albert Pujols hit a three-run home run in the top of the ninth to delay the Astros' first World Series appearance one more game and effectively ruin Brad Lidge's career.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Joe Dimaggio's 56-game hitting streak. I doubt anybody will ever come within 10 of that.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Mays. I like power but I also like the five tools. And Willie could patrol center field like no other.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Joe Montana. If I need someone to engineer a game-winning drive, he's the guy I want.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele, because I've heard more about him (not much of a soccer fan).

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big 12, because I'm a homer and think most of the best athletes come from the great state of Texas.
