Dr. Trade: Musings On Wallace, Powe, Butler, and Oberto

Joel C. Cordes, a.k.a. "Dr. Trade", has had a life-long habit of playing General Manager for all 30 of the National Basketball Association's franchises. Despite his degree and current career in education and coaching, Joel also adds a half-decade's worth of previous experience in sports broadcasting, reporting, and film-making to his never-ending passion and extensive knowledge of all things NBA.
A founding member and original host of Minnesota's "Average Joe Sports Show" radio program, Joel used his NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB credentials to interview and/or produce over 150+ features with professional athletes and coaches, including: Wayne Gretsky, Tim Duncan, Derek Jeter, Roy Halladay, Steve Nash, Phil Jackson, Ray Lewis, and many more. Joel also is an NBA consultant for Drafttek.com.
"Dr. Trade" articles will primarily focus on the League's personnel movement that makes the NBA such a fascinating game even off the court. Hypothetical and suggested roster moves will be published along with reaction to actual and upcoming deals. Having extensive background knowledge of basketball itself from years of watching, playing, coaching, and TV/radio play-by-play broadcasting, a wealth of accurate insight into current and past players' games, and insider locker-room experience will allow "Dr. Trade" postings to be handled professionally and as unbiased as possible. Fan feedback and reaction is welcomed and appreciated.
Joel currently resides, teaches, and coaches in Michigan with his wife and young son. He grew up in Minnesota, and happens to be one of five or so remaining people in the world who still care passionately about the Minnesota TimberWolves. He often tries to avoid writing in the 3rd person, but at times just can't help himself...
