Michael's Bio

Ever since he was a small boy, Mike has dreamed of becoming a professional baseball or basketball player. Unfortunately, once he hit the 6-foot mark he plateaued, and so did his sports career.

Now Mike has just transferred to the University of Maryland as a newly-minted journalism major and beat writer for the well-respected Diamondback.

Unfortunately, for now, that beat is student government, something Mike cares very little about but is willing to work as long as it gets him a good sports beat in the spring instead of women's golf or softball.

He will be slowly working his way back into the masses of Bleacher Creatures, and hopes that people will understand his absence because of the difficult transition.

He loves Pearl Jam, and the Stone Temple Pilots, but occasionally be caught listening to country music.

Any book by David Halberstam is put in his "must-read" category, and he recently finished "Pistol: The Life of Pete Maravich" by Mark Kriegel and could barely put it down.

He can be reached by e-mail at mlemaire@umd.edu

  1. Hey wanted you to check out my article. I think most U fans will enjoy but for some reason its low on the list:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/252161-are-the-hurricanes-back

Also posted on my blog: http://pasiksright.blogspot.com/

  2. Hi Michael,

Can you look at the rankings. I don't know why a Yankee fan would be # 1 on the Sox page. It's not really cool. I don't really care that it's me who is #2. I just don't think a NY should be atop the Sox page. I'm sure the Yankee fnas would feel the same in reverse. Todd

  3. It's all good Michael. Thanks for all your work.. Appreciate it..

  4. Attention Community Leader,

If you are getting this message, it's for one of a few reasons. Earlier this week I sent out a mass e-mail to all CL's. If you did not get this message, please post on my board and let me know. You either A)haven't checked your e-mail, B)just haven't replied or C)changed your e-mail from the last time I was updated, D) or something really odd happened to where you didn't get it (I've double and triple checked my names and e-mails, while possible, not sure how likely).

If you are not planning on returning as a Community Leader this 2009 season, it's important that you let me know. Either way, returning or not, either reply to my e-mail or post on my board. Spring Training is inching ever so-close, and it's important we know who is in and who's not so we can get the ball rolling.

If you do not reply to my e-mail or post a message on my board rather soon, I'm going to assume (provided there is a reason for an extended absence) that you no longer have the time and or desire to be a CL or you've left the site completely.

    Thanks

    -Nino

  5. I want to connect a few of the top baseball writers on BR and ask them who they think will win the world series, can you tell me your opinion on who is going to win the world series this year,PLZ Emil me the answer at

    mikekent57@yahoo.com

with your pick and a few words about it.

    Thanks
    Mike

  6. Just a note to all community leaders. I'm trying to collect e-mails. I have most of them from when we did the awards, but If it's changed since then, or you are new to the team, make sure we're cool on the e-mail.

With Free Agency starting tomorrow, we should probably be thinking offseason plans. I encourage everyone to put up some sort of preview for their own team. Highlight some needs, maybe look at who your team has on the market, or potential targets. If enough people get in on it, I'll post a collective article to highlight everyone's work.

If your a new community leader, welcome aboard. If you've been around, make sure you go around, become a fan of some of the other CL's and support each other. We're a team here!

    -Nino

    I have your e-mail Michael.
