Michael's Bio

Ever since he was a small boy, Mike has dreamed of becoming a professional baseball or basketball player. Unfortunately, once he hit the 6-foot mark he plateaued, and so did his sports career.

Now Mike is a sophomore communications Major at Villanova University outside of Philadelphia and is set on doing everything in his power to become a member of the sports media community.

He loves Pearl Jam, and the Stone Temple Pilots, but occasionally be caught listening to country music.

Any book by David Halberstam is put in his "must-read" category, and he recently finished "Pistol: The Life of Pete Maravich" by Mark Kriegel and could barely put it down.

He can be reached by e-mail at Michael.Lemaire@villanova.edu

  1. hey its too bad that roundtable didn't get more play... oh well. If you ever want to do another one, let me know.

  2. 8000 people and counting have read that article Michael—nice work!

Don't let the naysayers bother you (doesn't seem like you are, just making sure). The reaction from the members of our Community seems pretty positive, with a few exceptions.

    Keep the great stuff coming!
    Z

  3. I would be very glad to join your Red Sox round table. Been a fan since 1976.

I would favor the Red Sox signing Barry Bonds and assign him to Pawtucket to see if he has anything left. Would be a free insurance policy for Big Papi ands Manny for this fall.

Bonds would be great entertainment if anything. Make more more compelling TV too :)
If he stinks then we are free to boo him. But, maybe he can help win another trophy :)

Otherwise, the Sox might have to trade a young starter for bull pen help.
In the future they need to trade for, sign or develop replacements for Manny and Big Papi.

  4. Hey, I got Andrew to write one as well. Baby-steps... :)

  5. So, I finally wrote that Red Sox article you tried to badger me into writing. :)

    -Sean

  6. Hey Michael, I see congrats are in order for you for becoming the Red Sox Community Leader. It is surely a fun task heading up a community. Anyway, I use a website called wufoo.com. It is a site where you can create your own questionairre for people to fill out. It is free to sign up for, and you can have up to three forms in use w/o cost. I just use one and change my questions. If you want an example, visit

    http://bleacherreportmlb.wufoo.com/forms/bleacher-report-tribe-talk/

When I am waiting on answers, I just go into my account and see who has filled it out. Then I cut and paste the answers into my document for further editing before I post. I then change the questions and then ask again the next week. I now have enough people that I alternate weeks with participation. To me it is much easier to do it this way than through email. You never know if somethng gets stashed away in junk mail or what. Try it out, if you have any ?'s feel free to let me know and good luck with your first roundtable.

  7. Hey Mike, I would definately be interested in the discussion. Get back to me whnen you have more details.
    -Jen

  8. I see you are the community leader for the Boston Red Sox, I'd be interested in a discussion. Let me know.
    Thanks,
    Nate

  9. I'd be interested in discussion, let me know when you have things in order.

  10. Thanks Mike, I appreciate your kind words. If I'm not busy I wouldn't mind getting in on the discussion, just let me know.

  11. Hey Mike, Great articles on the Red Sox, I look forward to reading your stuff.

  12. Check the Red Sox page out now Michael...

Still got a long way to go to make that Top Writers list—I know you can do it though =)

    Z

  13. Hey Michael,

This should be fixed by the end of the day today. Tomorrow at the latest—my sincerest apologies.

Check your email...just made an important introduction.

    Thanks again,
    Zander

  14. Hmmm, it depends if you use a Mac or a PC. On a Mac, it's quite simple (as usual). You just have to press "shift" and "option", then press the dash.

On a PC, not as easy (as usual). Hold down "ALT" then press 0-1-5-1 on the numeric keypad. If you don't have a numeric keypad, you have to copy and paste them.

Hope this helps! Any other questions, don't hesitate to let me know.
