Washington Redskins Secondary: Under Fire and In Trouble vs. New Orleans Saints
12/05/2009
I'm a newly minted 2009 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, where I majored in history and political science. I also wrote and copy edited for our student newspaper, The Red & Black, the finest paper on the East Coast.
In the summer of 2008, I worked at ESPN 980 in Rockville, MD, doing sound editing as a productions department intern. I attended Washington Nationals games to obtain soundbytes for the following day's broadcasts.
I started as an editorial intern here in late July and ended in late October.
While I'm doing that, I am also going to be writing on a wide variety of issues, but mainly on the Washington Redskins and Washington Nationals because those are my hometown teams.
My work has been featured on CBSSports.com.
My article "Colt Brennan vs. Chase Daniel: The Washington Redskins Next Big Decision" is my first article with over 1,000 reads in just one day (08/24/09-08/25/09). My article "Colt Brennan Injured, Chase Daniel Cut: What are the Washington Redskins Doing?" is my first article with over 2,500 reads in just one day (09/04/09-09/05/09).
Instead of grinding out game coverage on a daily basis, I hope to cover the larger themes involving different teams as well as doing some original research and reporting.
As a recent college graduate, I am actively looking to explore full-time opportunities in sports writing, news reporting, or editing in the newspaper and radio industries. So please feel free to contact me with any opportunities: holmberges@gmail.com.
My profile picture is me with former Redskins offensive lineman Tre' Johnson during the mid-90s. I look so happy to meet him and he looks completely miserable. That brings joy to my heart.
QB is far from the teams most pressing need, but Campbell's contract situation has to be figured into any personnel moves this off-season.
Eric Holmberg replied…
Clearly, and people like Boomer Esiason who think this is a playoff roster and it's Campbell...
The Saints offense is good. Which got me thinking about Friday’s World Cup draw and Brazil. Saying the Saints offense is good is like saying Brazilians are good at soccer...
give me a break qb of the future lol lol lol...
Adam Hankins replied…
As for the 2010 draft, it should probably be Bradford/Clausen/Locker. I don't think anybody with any...
rob sahm replied…
i agree if favre or brady was the qb on the skins they would be on...
I'm at the other end of the spectrum. I think the Redskins should restrict and then trade Jason Campbell next year. The main attribute you're talking...
Eric Holmberg replied…
Adam, I would have to disagree that Campbell has been given a pass by Redskins' fans....
It is a sore subject in Washington. Redskins’ fans can get a bit testy (or mercurial, for those of you nearing the end of another fine year with your Word of the Day calendar) about Jason Campbell...
