I am a hockey writer and ravenous fan from Norfolk, VA who grew up on ECHL hockey and ESPN National Hockey Night. Although already a Capitals fan, I started following the Blackhawks when the Norfolk Admirals became their AHL affiliate. The same year the Blackhawks dropped the Admirals, I landed a job in Chicago. So, in a way, I left with the team. I couldn't have made a better choice.
