About

Been in the Air Force since 2001. I grew up playing football, basketball, and baseball in Georgia. I played baseball in college (though it was a short stint) before I joined the Air Force, and feel I have a really good knowledge of the game. I am a huge Lakers fan (born in California), Braves and Falcons fan. I hope that by reading my articles you'll not only get a fan's perspective, but an intelligent, analytical one as well. On a personal note, I'm married to my wife, Brittny, and we have one child, Grace. I hope my articles bring you in; I try to write fan-to-fan, not to inform the fan.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Ken Griffey, Jr., Kobe Bryant, Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning, Chipper Jones, Brian McCann, Roy Halladay, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Bulldogs

  • Favorite Coaches

    Bobby Cox, Phil Jackson

  • All-Time Sports Moment

For me, probably Kirk Gibson's HR off Eck in the '88 World Series - it's the first sports memory I really remember as a child. Plus our whole family was into it, jumping and screaming through the house

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

For different reasons, but the first Falcons game I went to in '97 - a fight broke out about 20 feet to our left, and that's the game June Jones & Jeff George screamed at each other - classic!

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

2632 consecutive games by Cal Ripken, Jr.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Wow - I'll take Ruth, just because of his 'studliness' in the fall classic

  • Unitas or Montana?

I'll take Joe Montana, Captain Cool - seriously, he points out John Candy on the final drive of the Super Bowl?!?

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan, Jordan, Jordan...

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky was magical with the puck, and I never saw Orr play, so I'll take Gretzky

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Pele is the GOAT!

  • Federer or Sampras?

Federer won the French - he can play on clay...I'll take Roger

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger - he's the reason I play golf now, and when he's done, he'll have around 25 majors

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Petty was, and always will be, king of the track

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Senna's life was cut short in his prime, so we never got to see that come about, so I have to go with Schumacher

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

SEC, with the Pac 10 a close second

Why one move that wasn't made helped the Celtics achieve the success that they've had.

    Hey man,

I just wrote an article discussing Pau Gasol's recent injury suffered while playing for his country of Spain, which leads me to ask the question where should his allegiance lie? Please take a moment to read it and provide your own opinion as a comment. Hope you Like it!
