My Team : Episode-I
07/09/2009
Hello,
I am Shah Rukh Qureshi. Born on the 10th of April, 1985. Living in Karachi, Pakistan. Have some future plans about higher-studies in England, that would be pursued very sooner at the end of this year. People call me Vamp or Vampy due to my excessive interest in Vampire books and entities so thought to choose this pseudonym for me as no one appears to be calling me with my real name, not even my parents. And I like it that way, don't know why!
I am 23 years of age, and my religion is Liverpool. When everyone here in Pakistan, generally, have been supporting ManU due to their utmost exposure - thanks to Fergie for that, I started following Liverpool. It wasn't in the titles, it was in the GAME. When I started watching Football it was an epic era of great managers like Cruijff, Capello and Van Gaal triumphing across the Europe. And then, there were players like Michael Laudrup. The player who made me witness, what really, the term "Beautiful Football" is! Then I followed it with Luis Figo and that gifted me with a belief that 'PASSING' is what Football is!
I am really thrilled how the Liverpool have come to the place where they are supposed to be in a decade. Of course, it all started with Gerard Houllier and his amazing, yet strange, Treble. Then, there came the Spaniard and finally I started watching what I was craving for to see in team and what my belief about football has been - Passing. Sublime Passing. 2005 was just phenomenal. You will only know what we - the Reds - felt that night when your favorite team is 3-0 down to a beast and the best team of Europe, in the Champions League Final and your team turns the things around, upside-down in the wake of 5 minutes! And then the graphic presentation of 'You will Never Walk Alone' was shown to us, the fans.
Only thing I want to see before dying is Liverpool being crowned the EPL Champs.
The reason to join B/R is that I needed a place where I could learn and grow with my writing skills and get the knowledge that people share about Football. I hope and can see that I will attain that, which I have come here for.

P.S. I really should have given up my 14 year support for Real Madrid F.C. when David Beckham left the club. It's never too late, though. So, I am ending my support for Real Madrid F.C. now. I witnessed one of the most thrilling moments while supporting this, arguably, the most successful club in the history of football but I have no regret now as I am stepping down from my fan-dom.
I am waiting for Totti to retire so I can turn my full-fledged undying support to my club of the life --Liverpool-- along-with Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax Amsterdam, which will never change.
P.P.S. I don't do things without reasons, if you want to know anything then ask me for that.
Cheers!
Hey,
Henry's handball has got the whole football world talking. What better time for another Great Debate? Should Henry have owned up? Is he a cheat? Should FIFA have allowed a replay? Have your say in the great debate!

Cheers Shah,
Agh...I was gutted last night, and for most of today.
It was a travesty of justice, but it's been and gone now, and despite the FAI president being a great politician today, I can't see a replay happening.
Ah well, on to the weekends games, and the Ireland game will probably be forgotten by Monday after a bad refereeing decision or a controversial moment or something.
Hope the studies are going well.

Some quotes about 'King' Kenny Dalglish:
"I never saw anyone in this country to touch him. I can think of only two players who could go ahead of him – Pele and possibly Cruyff. He was He was better than Maradona, Rummenigge or Platini. I would say that on his day he was, without any shadow of a doubt, the best player in the world." - Graeme Souness
"He is one of the best players I have ever seen and one of the best players in the history of football." - Franz Beckenbauer
"I suppose above everything else when you try to assess Kenny's importance you must talk about his attitude to the game. He just wanted to play football. He had tremendous skill and the ability to set the pace of the game for the other players around him. When I had to sell Kevin Keegan to Hamburg – and we didn't have any choice because Kevin wanted to go to Europe – I didn't think it would be possible to replace him. Yet we did it so easily by buying Kenny from Celtic. In many ways he was a better player for Liverpool than Kevin was. Kenny is a model professional and was the best buy we ever made – it's as simple as that." - Bob Paisley
"After Kevin Keegan left no one was quite sure how Bob Paisley would fill the gap but it was a masterstroke to sign Kenny from Celtic. With his football brain and ability to score goals out of nothing, Dalglish became the main man of the Liverpool sides throughout the late '70s and '80s. Kenny seemed almost continually capable of writing his own script - from his dramatic first ever Liverpool goal to his strikes that clinched the 1978 European Cup win and 1986 championship against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The way he could score goals and also create them for other players around him was special. He will always be remembered as the king here at Anfield." - David Fairclough
Kenny is Liverpool's greatest ever player simply I played with him and he made a lot of my goals. He gave me the confidence that I needed. Whenever Kenny had the ball I always knew it was going to come to me." - Ian Rush
"Kenny Dalglish, he's probably one of the nicest men you'll ever meet and as a player - the partnership he had with Ian Rush was phenomenal. There's that many players over the years who've tried to get partnerships going but I don't think you'll get a better partnership that that between Dalglish and Rushie. I can remember when I was a schoolboy and I used to get the bus up to Melwood. It was raining one night and Kenny's come past me and picked up me and my dad at the bus stop. I can't remember what car it was - maybe a big white Mercedes - and I think I was only used to buses then so I was just excited to be sitting in a car never mind a Mercedes one! He dropped me off by my house and I was absolutely devastated that no one got to see me getting a lift home form the Liverpool manager. Any young kid, no matter who you support, it doesn't get much better than that, does it? Ever since I've played Kenny's been very supportive of me but I think as a player, what he's achieved has been nothing short of exceptional." - Robbie Fowler
"Kenny had unbelievable vision and strength as a player. He was really aware of people around him. He had great balance and was a good finisher, courageous too. People often forget that the one quality great players need is courage. Kenny is as brave as a lion. He would take a kick from anyone and come back for more. Kenny is a man I shall always respect." - Alex Ferguson

Hehe, I knew it. You do have some hatred for Arsenal, don't deny it.
Adebayour maybe an argument, but Ashely Cole is hated even by some Chelsea fans.
It's your loss really. HAAHAHAHA, asking for a raise, your funny.
As if the football wages weren't ridiculous enough.
You just wan't an argument Vampy, you're even defending a man who cheated on his club, his fans and even his wife.
Sorry mate, but you're wrong this time.

DeleteHey,
Following up yesterday's great debate is the one I've been waiting to write for a long time, and the one I think may be the best debate yet and a must-read for any football fan! Should video technology be introduced into football? Would doing so take away from the 'magic' that makes the game so great? And would it help or hinder the referees? Have your say in the Great Debate!
