My name is Frank Irizarry and I am a professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism at Suffolk University in beautiful Boston, MA. Before coming to Boston I spent nine years teaching and working on my Ph.D at The University of Florida.
My experience in sports is quite diverse and eclectic. I currently do some work with the Manchester Wolves arenafootball2 team and prior to this year, I served as the Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting for the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds, serving as radio play-by-play man, co-host of our weekly radio show and content provider for our website and the af2 website. I was the host of "The Fox Sports Dot Com Bloggers Show" on Blog Talk Radio and at some point I'd love to get that going again with some of the fine folks here at Bleacher Report.
Football is a passion for me and has been so for the past 25 years as a player, coach, writer, pr guy and television/radio commentator. I played football for Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY from 1989-1991 and I was a member of the Marist College ACFC Championship team in 1990, the first in school history.
The most rewarding time I spend in football right now though is the time I spend coaching Pop Warner football. I am going into my seventh year as a coach and I am really looking forward to working with a great group of kids this year. Wilmington Wildcats #1!!!
I am truly blessed with a wonderful wife of twelve years, Cynthia and two awesome sons Johnny and Frankie.
Come to the lake! It is fantastic! 58000 acres makes for great boating. My Sea Ray loves guests.
Yoeu PHD. is in what? All are bitter sweet. HA!
Have you read any of my silly stories??
