About

[WRITER'S NOTE: With the Gateway's publishing year now in full effect, my contributions to B/R will be significantly less than they have been in the past month or so. However, I'm not going away completely — look for some short-form pieces from me in the near future.]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former sports editor and current Managing Editor at The Gateway (the official student newspaper of the University of Alberta — www.thegatewayonline.ca) I've been involved with journalism going on five years now, and hope to become a hockey writer at some point. I've been a fan of the sport (and sports in general) from as far back as I can remember.

Thus far, I've had the pleasure of interviewing Jordan Eberle and Ryan O'Marra (Edmonton Oilers prospects), Rob Daum (head coach of the AHL's Springfield Falcons), Don Horwood (former University of Alberta men's basketball coach, CBC commentator during 1996 Summer Olympics), among others.

I also enjoy long walks on the beach, getting cozy by the fireplace, and making love — all three with some Barry White playing in the background.

Check out my most recent Gateway piece — University of Alberta Golden Bears football season preview for 2009: http://www.thegatewayonline.ca/articles/sports/2009/08/27/bears-football-seeking-turn-around-last-year-s-disappointment-2009
