Anncler's experiments show that the G. P. Method for determining the
theobromine in theobromine-sodium salicylate does not give absolutely
accurate results, the error under the most careful manipulation amounting
to about 4 per cent, of the amount of theobromine found. He has Buy Cheap Kamagra tried other
methods, which are more or less inaccurate within o.i per cent., if the fol-
lowing directions are carefully adhered to : i Gm. of theobromine-sodium
salicylate is dissolved in 10 Cc. of water and rinsed into a small separator
with a little more water ; 3 Cc. of 10 per cent. HCl and a drop of phenol-
phthalein solution are added, followed by sufficient of a concentrated aque
oas solution of barium hydroxide to saturate the liberated salicylic acid,
antil the led color of the indicator just remains perceptible after admix-
ture. The mixture is then shaken out successively with 20, 10, 10, and
10 Cc. of a 20 per cent, solution of phenol in chloroform, drawing off the
first portion after the separation into two layers, and collecting the phenol-

Alkyl Iodides Action on Mercury- Ammonium Salts, M. Zipkin finds
that if ethyl iodide is left in contact with ordinary " white precipitate,"
NHjHgCl, for several months, yellow crystals of a double iodide of mer-
cury and tetraethylammonium are obtained, their composition being repre-
sented by the formula 2N(QH5)4l, 3Hgl2 ; the same compound is obtained
by heating white precipitate with ethyl iodide Buy Cheap Kamagra and ethyl alcohol in a
water- bath together with a larger quantity of double iodide of mercury
and ammonium, NH^IjHgl,. "Fusible white precipitate " (NHajjHgCU,
heated with methyl iodide and methyl alcohol, gives a double iodide of
mercury and tetramethyl-ammonium N(CH8)4l,HgIj, together with the
double iodide of mercury and ammonium and a little ammonium chloride.
Oxydimercuri-ammonium chloride, NH^HgCljHgO, heated with methyl
iodide, gives yellow crystals of double iodide of mercury and tetramethyl
ammonium, having a different melting-point from the compound obtained
from fusible white precipitate. The production of tetra-alkyl-ammoniuro
compounds suggests that the formulae NHgiCl, NH4CI for white precipi-
tate, NHg2Cl,3NH4Cl, for fusible white precipitate, and NHgsCl,HA
or oxydimercuri-ammonium chloride, are mre correct than those given
above, which are usually assigned to them. On the other hand, when one
of these compounds is dissolved in solution of sodium thiosulphate, the
nitrogen Buy Cheap Kamagra is entirely given off as ammonia, whereas ammonium chloride or
sal alembroth evolves no ammonia when dissolved in thiosulphate, and it
therefore appears unlikely that the white precipitates contain ammonium
chloride. Thus, the experiments recorded do not enable a decision to be

Antipyrine A Sensitive Reagent. Primot finds a solution composed
of i.o vanillin, 6.0 of J4 N hydrochloric acid and 100.0 of 95 per cent,
alcohol to be an extremely sensitive reagent for antipyrine. If i Cc. of
this reagent is added to a trace of antipyrine in a porcelain diah and
evaporated on the water-bath, a deep orange-colored ring is developed,
culminating in a spot of the same color. Under careful observation it is
possible to detect so infinitely small a quantity as 0.00095 Mgm. of anti-
pyrine by means of this reagent, which serves well for its detection in
