Justin's Bio

I am a lifelong sports fan. I love to watch baseball, pro and college football, and college basketball especially. Most of all I love baseball. Nothing is more fun to me than going to a Royals game in the summer in the open air with all the sights, sounds, and smells of the game. Kauffman stadium is the most beautiful stadium in baseball. Some of my best memories are going to Royals games with my Dad. Enjoying the game and talking about baseball and everything else.
Some more info. about me. I'm 27 years old. Live in northwest Missouri and currently work in the meat department at Wal-Mart.
Hope to someday get a job in social work or some field where I can help others which is a passion of mine. I love to watch movies, TV, listen to most types of music, and enjoy the outdoors. I'm currently in a serious relationship with the most amazing woman in the world.

The Short List facts and information about Justin Hackney

Favorite Athletes

George Brett and Buck O'Neil are my all-time favorites. Current faves would be Alex Gordon, Zach Greinke, and Priest Holmes.

Favorite Sports Teams

Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, San Antonio Spurs, Mizzou Tigers, Creighton Bluejays, Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, and Putnam County Midgets.

All Time Sports Moment

My all time sports moment would of course be the Royals 1985 World Series title in the I-70 series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Wish I was older so I could remember it but I hope to be celebrating their second title in a few years.

Most Memorable Game Attended

In 2003 when the Royals were actually in the pennant race my Dad and I went to a game at Kauffman against the Yankees. It was a packed stadium with great atmosphere. The best part was the Royals won 11 to 0 against the hated Yankees. I'll never forget it.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Definitely Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak. No one else has gotten within 12 games of it. When someone gets up to 30 games now, they get so much media attention. It would be so much harder to do today.

Ruth or Mays?

The two best baseball players ever in my opinion but I'll give a slight edge to Ruth because he was a great pitcher too.

Unitas or Montana?

I would have to say Unitas. They were both great QBs but Unitas played when it was alot tougher for QBs. No rules to protect them.

Pele or Maradona?

I guess Pele. Never been a soccer fan but Pele is more famous.

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big 12 for sure because Mizzou is my favorite college team.
