Dann's Bio

If I have to encapsulate my experiences as an editing intern in one one phrase, it would have to be,
"Em dash."

I'm originally from the UK but after graduating from the University of Kent I came out to live and work in South Korea.I used to do Boxing, Taekwondo and Long Distance Running, while these days I like Skateboarding/Surfing/Snowboarding.
I write for magazines, newspapers and websites in the UK, USA and Asia, but most importantly I'm an Editorial Intern here on B/R!

  2. I used the Schottey Six to vent about some things that Bleacher Report could improve upon!

You should DEFINITELY check this one out!

  3. Dann,

Aron Glatzer asked me to compile the official B/R NFL Power Groupings for Week Two. (Angel Navedo did the same for week one).

If you get a chance, and could edit, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Mike

  4. Here's my week two recap of the Lions' (surprisingly winnable) loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

    Thanks in advance!

  9. Thanks for the edit Dann

  10. Dann:

Normally I would agree with you about the numbers, but as far as "Week 1" goes, that's actually how the NFL refers to it (e.g., http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8125a852&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true ). In my mind, it'd be like writing "49ers" as "Forty-Niners."

  11. Thanks for the edits Dann. Unless I'm missing something (and it wouldn't be the first time), B/R automatically capitalizes the word "of" in my headline "Come to think of it"...I've tried to change it but it changes it back.

And, the em dash - I haven't been able to figure out how to easily remember how to make the long dash.

So, yes, I'm very cognizant of the rules you suggest, and have been told this by other editors, but per my comments above, am not sure what to do about it.

  12. Danke Dann.
