Dan Hanzus replied…
I have this thing where I hate how Billy Crystal presents himself as the No. 1...
Mattingly's scene from "Homer at the Bat" was actually recorded before Steinbrenner demanded he get a haircut.
Dan Hanzus replied…
Thanks, Lewie. Just did a bit of research and I can't believe you're right. Very strange....
When Nick Swisher and his impeccable faux hawk made an appearance in Monday's episode of How I Met Your Mother, the outfielder became just the latest New York Yankee to dip his toes in the waters of Hollywood...
Swisher sucks. He's overrated and didn't do shit in the world series. Y is he getting all this publicity
Ogre replied…
You're right. Swisher is garbage. I'm glad someone here is keeping it real.
Dan Hanzus replied…
Not sure what you get out of this, but thanks for adding to my comment total....
i was thinking about 2011 and i was wondering if anybody knew what swishers statues was for next year? is he signed or a free agent...
Dan Hanzus replied…
I think if Swisher produces in a similar vein to last season, they will keep him....
While Swisher did a fine job of not embarrassing himself, I still cannot get over how great Jim Nantz was in this episode. He was dead...
Dan Hanzus replied…
I did quite enjoy when he kicked his chair over in disgust.
I can't even imagine what Nick Swisher's offseason has been like. There's literally nothing you can say that would surprise me about his last three months. Swisher drank 50 Mountain Dews and swam the English Channel in 20 minutes? Sure...
How could we possibly miss Johnny Damon when we have Brett Gardner?
Ogre replied…
I believe that this person (Kevin) calling you a "moron" is really the B/R alter ego...
Dan Hanzus replied…
Wow, I actually agree with this Ogre fellow for once. It's another backhanded Yankees slight, but...
It is absolutely incredible that you could right an entire article on the ramifications of letting Damon go without once - I repeat - without once...
Dan Hanzus replied…
I don't think I gave off the air of panic in my post, and I'm not...
Full disclosure: Here at River & Sunset, we're going to seriously miss us some Johnny Damon. Losing his production hurts, that's a given...
What a great post describing the class act that will be forever known as Donnie Baseball. The league needs more guys like him.
I have a feeling that Posada will start somewhere around 100 games this year. I figure that Burnett and Joba's starts will go to Cervelli. They...
Perry Arnold replied…
Derrick, do you actually think Jorge can help anyone with their defense? He is one of...
Derrick Pasley replied…
You might be right about that, but I'm sure he has some things to offer Cervelli....
Don was good for the Yankees, both him and Buck Showalter got treated poorly by the Stienbrenners.
Dan Hanzus replied…
Agreed George was unfair at times. Haircutgate anyone?
Appreciate your piece. Everything you said was right on. I loved Donnie. At the time he was at his best, I had no satellite TV and...
Dan Hanzus replied…
Thanks Perry. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'll get in the Hof before the Crime Dog.
Ogre replied…
"Crime Dog" belongs in the Hall. If Joe Dimaggio is in then McGriff belongs there too....
Justin Green replied…
McGriff has only 13 more RBI's than dimaggio despite playing in 5 more seasons(162 game seasons...
