About

Just a city boy, born and raised in south...Bronx...ruined the song.

Another transplanted New Yorker corrupting the Mid-West. Huge Yankee fan, sometimes (always) to a fault, and a Knicks "fan" that never forgets to wear his brown paper bag to games.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

David Lee, Joba Chamberlain, Robinson Cano, David Wells, David Cone, Paul O'Neill, Tino Martinez, Mariano, A-Rod (yes), Mike Modano, C.C. Sabathia, Phil Hughes, Nate Robinson, Dwight Howard, Chris Anderson, Cole Hamels, Jake Peavy, Carlos Zambrano, Tim Lincecum

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Yankees, Jets, Knicks, Dallas Stars, NY Rangers, NY Islanders, Cubs

  • Favorite Coaches

John Calipari, Mike D'Antoni, Ken Hitchcock, Joe Girardi

  • All-Time Sports Moment

Even though they went on to lose to the Marlins in the World Series, and the Red Sox won the whole thing the next year, Aaron Boone's homer off of Tim Wakefield in the 2003 ALCS in extra innings was my most memorable Yankee experiance of all time. I prayed to God that the Yanks pulled it off against the SAWX, and now because of that I have to build a church in Somalia.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Subway Series, 2000, Game One. I had garbage seats, but I still remember Paul O'Neill's looooong at bat and Jose Vizcaino coming through and getting the two out game winning single off of that wack-job Wendell. I would've gotten wasted at that game if I wasn't 15...and out of money.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak. Pete Rose is the next closest (modern day) player at 44, and that's still 12 games away. It's A THIRD OF THE SEASON!

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Ruth. Next.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Unitas. Montana has more rings, but he also had Jerry Rice.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan. The Celtics in Russell's time had all All-Stars and faced nobody until Wilt and the Lakers came together.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Hmmmm. Probably Gretzky, because I couldn't really care less.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Maradona. Any real soccer fan will tell you that.

  • Federer or Sampras?

Sampras. Just because a guy doesn't like to talk doesn't mean he isn't the greastest tennis player of all time.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Right now I say Nicklaus, but Tiger's on his way to eclipsing him. it boils down to the competition: Jack had Palmer, Player, Hogan (tail end of career, but still) and to a lesser extent Tom Kite and greg Norman; Tiger has Phil, maybe Sergio and Vijay Singh.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

This is the last time I talk NASCAR: Gordon.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    Pass.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

SEC football, Big East basketball, ACC baseball.
