About

Jim Cheney is a Bundang, South Korea based sportswriter who loves baseball and soccer and doesn't understand why American football is called football (They hardly use their feet at all).

A huge Braves' fan, Jim still sleeps with an Atlanta Braves pillow case, much to the dismay of his wife. Jim's favorite player is Chipper Jones and he has followed his career since Chipper played for the Richmond Braves.

Jim writes about the Atlanta Braves for the Fan Huddle Network. Check out his Braves' blog at www.BravingBaseball.com.

Jim is also very interested in soccer/football and is the Featured Columnist for the South Korean National team heading into the World Cup, which Jim views as the greatest sporting event in existence. Having been lucky enough to have been in Europe during the last rounds of the 2006 Cup, he is eagerly anticipating the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Other than sports, Jim enjoys traveling, history, technology, and playing music.

    Hey Jim,

The John Terry allegations have been well documented now, and in the latest Great Debate article I ask a lot of questions surrounding it, mainly "has it damaged England's World Cup hopes?" I think it has, but not for the reasons you might expect...

Also, Was Capello right to strip Terry of the captaincy? Is Ferdinand the right man to replace him? and what are your overriding thoughts on the whole farce?

    Let your opinion be known!

    Cheers,

    Hey,

It's a tiny bit late as it took longer than expected to write it, but my review of 2009 is finally here! Last year's one won the AOTD award and hopefully I've done enough on this one to equal that feat, but I'll leave you to be the judge of that!

With 25 great moments from 12 different sports, and with everyone from Barcelona to France, the Yankees to the Lakers, and Usain Bolt to Tiger Woods there is something for everyone in this slideshow, plus a ranked top ten as the final slide!

If you get a chance would you mind checking it out? Cheers!

    Hey,

It's that time of year again! Time to vote for your B/R World Football Writer of the Year. A final shortlist of 10 has been devised with great difficulty, and now you can vote for who you think deserves the accolade! Let the voting commence!

    Also...

If you haven't seen it already, I have written the first of many "decade in review" pieces, and this one looks at Liverpool's top 15 matches of the noughties. Have a look and see what you think, you might be surprised at what ISN'T number one!
