Lew's Bio

Your basic guy who loves college sports.

Did the faceless, corporate management thing for too long.

Business owner long enough to see good times and rough times.

Through it all college sports have and continue to be my passion. My days of being a Pac-10 fan actually date back to the Pac-8. Those were the days when Jim Plunkett was throwing bombs to Randy Vataha and Ahmad Rashad was a running back at Oregon by the name of Bobby Moore.

You can find my work covering Washington State on Examiner.com:

My favorite college game to take in? Either the one I have tickets to or just about any game on television.

    Tiger Woods

  • Favorite Sports Teams

    Washington State Cougars

  • All Time Sports Moment

Kirk Gibson's improbable homerun off Dennis Eckersley. The only time in my life when I exhibited a 42" vertical leap. Oh yeah, we were there about 8 rows up behind first base. There was no doubt about Gibson's shot going. It was gone...all the way.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

2003 Holiday Bowl when the Cougs upset #4 Texas with a one-legged quarterback and monster defense. Close second would be the 1988 conference game when WSU upset the #1 ranked UCLA Bruins on their home turf in the Rose Bowl.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

    DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth, the quintessential bowler turned baseball player...

  • Unitas or Montana?

Joe Montana was the prototypical winner. Period.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Who?

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

    PAC-10 of course...are you kidding?

  1. No problem at all, Lew. From seeing all the articles you have, there aren't many hours left in the day. Hope to work with you again in the near future.

  2. No problem Lew—a pleasure to read it!

  3. You're very welcome Lew!

  4. Glad you like it Lew!

  5. Hah, no worries—just the memory. I don't mind things like that at all as long as I've done my part in letting the author know what the style is. It's if I were to forget about something and remember later that I'd be frustrated (with myself).

    -Tim

  6. Lew,

No problem, happy to help! I really enjoyed the article. One perk of doing some editing is getting a chance to learn about different football teams that don't get a lot of pub in the Midwest. Looking forward to learning more about WSU and the Pac-10 through your stories!

  7. Good to see you at Pac-10 Media day! :)

    -Lise

  8. No problem on the edits Lew. No matter what happens, I have to believe this year in UW/WSU football will better than last year...right?

Thanks for the Father's Day wishes too!

  9. Any time, Lew.

  10. You're very welcome, Lew.

It was a pleasure to read.

  11. Hi Lew, Thanks for the post! I look forward to reading your articles.

  12. It's my pleasure Lew—same to you and yours!

  13. No problem on the edits Lew. I read Ian's article too; nice to have perspectives from both sides of the rivalry!

Yup, it's going to be a Mother's Day and Father's Day like never before around here! Our little guy is growing well and staying happy; almost six weeks old now!

  14. Glad to hear the edits work Lew; too bad about the video though.

  15. Not a problem Lew. If that was hungover, your sober writing must really be something...
