Tim's Bio

I was born and raised just north of Boston, but I try to be a better sports fan than the "Wicked Sox Dudes" of the world. I've written for several publications and currently cover high school sports for The Patriot Ledger in the City of Presidents: Quincy, Mass.

I've been brought aboard BR to do some editing, so if you're reading this to see who changed something on your story, take my word that I mean well.

<-- That there is my 1920s newsman shot, seee?

The Short List facts and information about Tim Coughlin

Favorite Sports Teams

Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and all Northeastern University sports, even though they usually let you down.

I also throw support to all Seattle teams (Save the Sonics) and the Minnesota Wild.

All Time Sports Moment

The Red Sox coming back from three games down to beat the Yankees in the ALCS and go on to win the World Series in 2004 (obvious, but gotta go with it).

Most Memorable Game Attended

The Weymouth High School boys hockey team's 2-1 victory over Catholic Memorial in round-robin play of the 2007 Super Eight tournament.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Ripken's consecutive games played streak.

Ruth or Mays?

Ugh.

Unitas or Montana?

Brady. (Then Montana, who has four times as many rings as Unitas. Still, the Pete and Pete episode about aliens seeing old satellite footage of Johnny Unitas 40 years later is epic.)

Pele or Maradona?

Pele.

Jordan or Gretzky?

Jordan.

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Colonial Athletic Association!
